Not saying we need another arcade game like COH I don't agree with that, but it seems that's what the majority wants so...

I don't agree with that, but it seems that's what the majority wants so... You took that out of context Kevin. I said we DON"T need another COH (all 4X with no option to play "run what ya brung" type scenarios), but rather that the option to play BK with a 4x element would be a big draw for the game. P.S: The reality is that the game could be made so that it could be played either way. Having the game as a war simulation only (like Theater of War and yes , BK) limits the draw of the game mainly to WW2 buffs. Having the option to play BK as a 4X type of game would increase the draw to the wider gamer market (you know- where the MONEY is). This would increase sales and thus profits for Nival, giving them the resources and inclination to keep producing content for BK3.

I think we need two versions of BK III. One for the big crowd, one for the real war simulation fans..like me There is no reason they can't be the same game. Lots of the Multiplayer maps for BK have painstakingly coded ways to have a factory element to them already. Making this an easy to do thing when making a map would be great, and if you wanted to have a more realistic simulation type of scenario you simply do not include the factories and script in reinforcements just like BK single player maps are currently made. Spring 1944 was(is?) like this although that was never really finished AFAIK. Edit to add: For those that really want a true battle simulator BK1 is really not very good at all for that. Try Theater of War. Great simulator, but it stinks as a game.

Jagged Steel:Yes, it could be I suppose, but its a shame the perfect concept of BK 1 is left.. I hoped for a mix of BK1, Theatre of War and Close Combat..Then you would have a real stunning game!

Two elements that should also be in the game IMO:
- Aircraft should crash on the map when shot down (don't know if this is implemented in BK II, but definitively is in Sudden Strike) - Vehicles should be dependent on fuel (similar to TDA) - Germany for instance should have low stockpiles of it in late-war maps, and should be of importance on larger maps
Except for that what you guys have already mentioned - and large maps and that it's easy to modify.

Tits! And I will also use this occasion to say I concur with Stanenberg's statement in regards to SVKs farming simulator: stop hoarding potatoes or grain or Swedes or whatever the hell you grow and invade a country, for Jágr's sake! Oh, terrain-wise: there should be mountains - with snow on them and shit (or possible to make in custom maps).

Wait and see. off topic It should be noted that those who register on the site / forum Blitzkrieg III should have access to the beta of the game I wonder if we have access to the Beta ( Finally, those who do not live in Russia !)

Scripting for fun.

Adding my two cents to this topic: Scripting: (I'm basing myself on the scripting experience I had with BKI. I know the scripting possibilities in BKII were bigger, but I've never gone to detail with those)s - Full functionality for all basic mathematical operations. (In BKI the lua functions for square-roots and applying exponents weren't supported which severely limited the scripting possibilities)
- The information stored in arrays and lists should be included in the save file. (Previously, the data would be lost when you reloaded a game. This made the use of arrays and lists not worth the effort, hence limiting the scripting possibilities.)
- Support the community by providing a guide for the script functions (like the calvin guide) and a decent script editor with colour code and basic syntax check (scite editor). (It took the community literally years just to find out how the code worked. It is only by the effort of people like Calvin that we could make these many maps we have today. Let us not repeat that situation)
Gameplay and Visuals: (Many things have already been suggested but I just wanted to stress three points)
- Try to recreate the atmosphere of BKI, which I still regard as one of the best I had till today.
- Don't elaborate more on damage area on tanks and so on. Every game does this by now. Instead, create infantry units that don't act like mindless zombies with suicidal tendencies. (It would be very nice to see infantry units run from cover to cover instead of marching/running forward like idiots, as happens in most games.)
- In any case, don't imitate the arcade like gameplay of BKII. Try to go for the excellent balance BKI had: not too much tasks so you don't lose your head but enough to keep a decent amount of control.
Perhaps a last point: try to look at the concepts The Day After introduced to blitzkrieg. They were poorly implemented, partially due to restriction of the engine, but were none the less quite interesting.
Quite excited and slightly, really slightly, intoxicated, Che_guevara aka Mathias

I am enjoying the conversation... I agree with Che's observations... and I have not been drinking.................. hic........ yet. Keep the THINK CAMP going guys.... I'm trying to figure out how to add some of this to the list. And now I divulge my own request: If we do not get a BANK with a PLETHORA of GOLD BARS stacked inside.... I will be very disappointed. I have needs and that GOLD must be mine... And I don't want any Tigers within 100 km of the bank. So no more 'negative waves' gentlemen... it screws up my ability to contact the Mother Ship...

Guys, BK3 will be a different game, we are in 2013, most of the action today is in the multiplayer, young people wouldnt play a game as our old vanilla. But meaby will be a good game to spend some time once we, old people, are tired to modding, mapping and playing. About steam, I think is a good option because is the only way to get a legal copy of BK3 in Brazil.
