I agree with you Aleks, GUI is too big and it seems me that's a production menu

www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE9ppUnuNpw Joke aside, i'm with both Aleks and Scyoof. Also if it's not a production menu, then it looks a lot like Warcraft/Ground Control/Panzers "battle menu", and i don't like it one little bit.

I've never tried the recent Warcraft (just Warcraft 2 some century ago ), so maybe you're right.

I on the other hand never played Warcraft II, but i did play III some 8-9 years ago. Also when it comes to fantasy games, that UI is not bad, but i dislike it when it comes to WW2 games. Only redeeming thing for now (we'll have more details when the game is out) is that unit cards aren't like this: thumbs.cdn-ec.viddler.com/thumbnail_2_3eb14ecb_v1.jpgOne thing i really liked about BK 1 UI, is that it's really simple, no unit cards, all commands are next to each other and easy to memorise, map is nice, name of unit is nicely displayed...

As far as I could understand by my rusted Russian, maps and mods will be possible (last sentencies of the video).

That's great, any chance that they mentioned a mapeditor of some sorts?

No, they didn't, but I think they will allow new maps and skins for sure. Not so sure about heavy modifications about units. I read the video another time and heard the word "clan". Maybe we could have a sort of gameplay like the World of Tanks one.

Could be, i never worked with Warcraft or Panzers editor. I'm not certain if Ground Control 2 had an editor. However if it's an editor nice, if it isn't it's not nice.

Not to worry, quite sure it's only working version. You should've seen our GUI, from War Today (the old one). Hehehe Also keep in mind that GUI panels take some time to make (you must make sure you make no mistake - player might not see T-34 all the time but will surely see panels during entire game

PANZERS had some nice ideas (fighting inside houses was shown), but was too flashy and arcade for my taste. I sincerely hope they won't go that way. One thing i always liked in Blitzkrieg was artillery. Ari was fun for sure! I really liked it the way it was. Just bomb some fortified positions to ashes...like it was in WW2. Ari was important, in the first stages of the campaign you used it for bombing positions because most of your tanks were to weak for a direct attack. You kept them moving around on the map because they do not have enough range, securing their firing positions with some infantry and maybe some captured PAKs... Well that's all about Blitzkrieg. That's why I liked that game so much. It's not just rushing with units, losing them and rebuild them. You have to think about your next steps always keep in mind that you secure your reinforcement trucks and ari positions...capturing enemy PAKs or ari was also important sometimes... But I remember a lot of gaming magazines here in Germany which criticized that...they believed it's just boring. But war was not all about gigantic tank battles and infantry assaults. They never learn that and the casual gamer will not learn that either. btw: The only nice idea PANZERS had was FUEL. But that was not the idea of PANZERS but SWINE- which was fun and from the same developer studio. Ground Control was mentioned a page before...another very good RTS game with a different setting and a requested level of thinking which most of the "mass" can't reach or refuses to reach. That's why these games stay in niches forcing most of the developers to close their studio.
