Gentlemen, i formally announce my next project - Northern Front map series 1941-1944 - So to explain what's this all about. In vanilla BK there very few maps (or chapters) covering this area. Though there were expansions like Operation North, Talvisota and couple of custom chapters/campaigns namely Road to Leningrad by bb most of them dealt with early-mid war parts. With that in mind i've decided to put out 3 chapters dealing with different parts of this theater (maybe even a 4th chapter but it's not confirmed for now). Initially i thought to release them map by map, however chapter structure is easier for playing (IMO). Structure would be: 1. Petsamo-Kirkenes offensive - for those who never heard about it it was a Soviet offensive in area north and west of Murmansk during late 1944. This chapter compromises of six missions (all of them complete). Word of advice though this chapter is infantry heavy - meaning not that much tank to tank battles (you'll have tanks, but the focus is on infantry combat). 2. Division Azul - now this unit was specific, it had a very interesting combat record, for now 6 or 7 missions are planned. This would be a more conventional chapter with combined arms tactics. It will be set in time period of October 1941 to February 1943. 3. Battle of Narva 1944 - this is one of the least covered battles in BK. Gordon CZ made an excellent map regarding this offensive for MC. Currently i haven't decided on amount of maps - though most of them will be defensive in nature. Now, i would like to thank following people for providing me help with this endeavor: - bb - mostly advices and suggestions (also some sharp critique) - keepitsimple - script support - vonosten - for allowing me to use his objects - finally GZM team for making this great mod As a side note: i have not forgotten Southern Front 1944-1945 and i will still provide support and updates for it.

OK. Since i'm almost done with testing, here's a couple of screens from the Petsamo chapter: 12th Naval infantry brigade securing a village near Srednii isthmus. Again Srednii isthmus, except the beginning of a barrage. More Katyushas only this time near Titovka river. Also JSU-152 in indirect fire role. After a bombardment 10th Guards rifle division seizes a hill overlooking the road. OT-34 in action on Titovka bridgehead. FW-190 attacking the Soviet held crossing. (That destroyed 20mm flakvierling actually manage to shoot down 3 FW-190s while La-5s took the 4th one out) This situation happened several minutes after the previous shot. And it succeeded in destroying my resupplying capabilities ( i didn't see the Stukas until it was too late). 10th Guards Rifle division assault groups breach the enemy first defensive line. After breaching the line, enemy attempts a counter-attack. Moving towards Titovka. I'll upload more, probably tomorrow.

What version of GZM are you using? It's just I am seeing some roads and such that I don't seem to have in my version. Mine is possibly outdated though. Those are Vonosten roads. In fact it was an early version of his "road pack". These are fully compatible with the ones you can find in his topic. There is a difference however, the roads i'm using are a little more worn-out (so to make them look like they were covered with snow) while the ones in his topic are more un-damaged so to say. EDIT: I missed the part above, it's regular 7.77 with those roads as custom resource.

Testing finished. There was a nasty bug in mission 5, now fixed (i hate typos). Couple of screens, formal release tomorrow evening. 14th Rifle Division on attacking an outer line of defenses near Petsamo. Soviet heavy guns providing support. Fighting inside Petsamo. 367th Rifle Division attacking Hill 349, near Nikel. Luftwaffe strikes back. Fall of hill 441. German 170mm guns protecting lake Kuetsiarvi destroyed. 127th Light Rifle Corps surprises the defenders from behind. Katyushas near outskirts of Nikel. Nikel mines after a demolition. Ambushed Germans near Kirkenes. 10th Guards Rifle Division inside Kirkenes. Inferno. Securing the port. Final battle on the slopes of the mountain.

With my 600th post i release "Storm in the North" 6-mission custom chapter covering fighting during Petsamo-Kirkenes offensive.
Check the second post in this topic to find the necessary files.
Also i'll begin the work on Division Azul chapter tomorrow (i've decided upon the mission structure). If anybody wants to provide information about this division you can post it here (i've already have a lot of info, but some more might be needed).

OK, time for a small update of the progress.
First mission in Division Azul Chapter completed and tested. Second mission is in works right now.
Unfortunately i have been delayed due to several problems, but now i'm running at 100%.
Also small update will be released for Southern Front (mainly some changes in the first and second missions).

Division Azul chapter is formally released. I chose to focus mainly on division battles from 1941-1943. After that Division was mostly disbanded (some parts of it were in action till March of '44 as a part of 121st Infantry Division; others fought as part of Waffen-SS till '45).
Chapter consists of 7 missions. 4 missions cover the early fighting around Volkhov river bridgehead. 2 missions cover fighting in Volkhov pocket during summer of 1942. Last mission takes place during battle of Krasny Bor in 1943.
There may be some inaccuracies (some were by design, for example you'll have Panzers under your command). I've mostly used Osprey books as references, plus a couple of online sources as well as a rather interesting report of division actions by one Lieutenant Colonel Juan-Carlos Escalonilla of the Spanish Army.
Further note. I'll probably begin to work on Narva chapter sometime during May (i don't have a lot of time recently). Also during next week i'll update Southern Front '44-'45 campaign.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
For some strange reason, the download link for the chapter itself (one for the resource functions just fine) is not working properly. If you simply click on it, it will send you all the way up the thread.
Instead select it and copy it into search browser. It will then function fine.
