WALL BUILDER
In this Post, I discuss one of the Tools I created for the Building Generator, the Wall Builder.
One of the issues I had early on was aligning various parts of the Generator. I solved this by using a 320 x 320 Generator Image Canvas, and all of the tools use the same size Canvas. Since all of the tools are pre-aligned, once you complete the part and move it to a layer, it should line up perfectly.
The Wall Builder is actually 6 parts... Two for each Floor level, (left and right), and three levels. What you are looking at is a 320 x 320 Canvas using the Blue for the field, and the wall area is cut out and transparent.
So let's find a new texture. I found this Stone/Brick Pattern... I'm going to call it Stone7 once I finish the wall texture. Copy the Wall Builder and Paste into a new image. This is basically a carbon copy, but the 2nd one is where we will do our work. We will use the cut out area for a guide as to where the texture.
First I need to copy it, resize it to around 100 wide, and paste this into a 200 x 200 transparent canvas.
The Original Rescaled Image is on the upper right. You'll see the rescaled image on the lower right.
You'll notice the angle is all wrong for the Wall Builder.
So we need to rotate the Stone Image...
+26 Degrees is the correct angle and will look correct on the Building.
If you are creating a Right Wall part, you'll Rotate -26 degrees.
Now we can copy it into the lower right Image... Notice it does not fill all of the cut out area...
...so we can paste it once more to fill the area... be sure to align the stones.
Then we need to paste the Wall Builder (top) over the New texture...
The erase the Blue Color. USe the Color Select Tool and Select the Blue Field. Then select and set the Paint Can to Color Erase. Then Erase the Blue...
Now I'll paste this texture into the Building Generator, name it as a Layer (Stone7), move it to the Level 1 Left Texture Area and turn it on... Looks pretty good for a few minutes work...
The purpose of this discussion is to demonstrate the power of the Building Generator. If you do not like my wall textures... you can create your own. As long as you assign the Wall Layers in the correct Area that they belong in, there is no limit to what you can do.
