And Vonosten. Could you make Panzerschreck soldier for the Fallschirm? You mean make a Fallshirmjaeger with a Panzerschreck? Yes, no problem. But maybe Major Pain has some new German infantry in the planning?? If so, we better wait and make these troops in different versions. Would be cool!

Yes... Germans with new Animations. I'm adding squad options where they do not just stand around waiting to be shot. I'm giving all infantry squads improved eyes, ears and firepower. Look at the infantry below. On the far right is the idle stance.. So the entire squad kneels in a defensive formation. When enemy is encountered they can either go to offense or prone defense in their formation. They don't have to move around to assume a new formation... Squads will maintain the formation during assault, sneak, defense, crawl. They assume a standard 2 column formation for march, but go back to defensive formation when they stop at their destination. The UK Section and all Squads in GeneralThe Squads/Sections will be based on the Fire Team Design. While the word Fire Team was not used until after 1945, the philosophy of the Fire Power was in fact used by all modern armies during WW2. The UK was very aggressive in how they designed this. The BREN LMG was the anchor of the Section, as was the BAR in US Squads. The overwhelming fire power could lay down heavy suppressive fire which allowed the Squad leader and his 5 rifleman (Enfield) to move forward. Think of a two frogs leaping over each other and this is how the two Teams worked in the Section. The Rifle Team would advance for position, followed by the BREN Team moving up... Depending on the year, the Asst Section Leader led the Bren Team... Bren and 1 or 2 Loaders. The UK had either 9 or 10 member Sections during WW2. The US Army had 13 men Squads starting in 1944. The US Marines had 13 man Squads at the beginning of 1942. Both developed the Fire Team Formations, even though they were referred to as Fire Force. The Squads were anchored by either 2 or 3 BARs; gunner and a loader. The Squad usually had 2 Scouts and 2 to 4 Grenadiers. The Grenadier carried the M1 Garand with the M7 Grenade Launcher. Infantry has been overlooked in BK and not given enough importance. It was the boots on the ground that held the ground, not tanks. Tanks with infantry with air support comprised the Combined Arms Tactics. This has been also called Blitzkrieg, but the German Tactic was to advance as quick as possible and establish supply lines. They typically advanced beyond enemy entrenchments to gobble up ground, then follow-up by cutting of the supply lines of those caught in German held territory. This was not unlike the CAT used by the US in Desert Storm in Iraq. Once you run past the enemy, and move the front forward, entrenched enemy are cut off and will only require a secondary offense to dislodge them. With the infantry I am working on, they will be more stable, better integrity and improved firepower. While rifles and Brens could not take on a tank, the Grenadier could at least provide a fighting chance and disable. Once disabled, the squad can advance and use Grenades to finish it off. This of course was not practical when facing a tank platoon, but the infantry will no longer sit in the trench or house and just get picked off one by one. They will fight back until the ammo is gone. Infantry take a lot of time to create. All of these soldiers are based on existing models, with new sprites added from scratch. The crouched or kneeling position usually requires 3 sprites in 8 directions or 24 total sprites. Some soldiers did not have some animations for throwing grenades or other stances... I have added these... The throwing animation is 5 or 6 sprites again in 8 directions... for a total of 40 to 48 sprites. One sprite might take 30 minutes to an hour to create, so they just eat up time. When the animation is built, the motion must be somewhat fluid and the sprite should not move to one side or jump. Sometimes I have to go back and make adjustments so the soldier does not appear to move from his anchor location. I just recently completed the new STEN soldier... I added over 100 new sprites, which took around 75 hours... over a 3 weeks time. The work is so precise you just cannot work on the Sprites for long periods at one sitting. I'm working on the final animations now. If anyone wishes to learn how to create Infantry Sprites... I will be glad to teach them and hope they can take over this important work. All you need is GIMP or PSP... and a lot of time. You can download the original Infantry Sprites from my MediaFire Page in the BK Editor Stuff Folder. The Community really needs some people to do this work... I'd rather build the 3D models, but because of my commitment to the entire game... Infantry has to be improved... So please... someone step up... and take on the work. We really need a dedicated Infantry Sprite Builder... On the topic of skins for infantry, I also did some work on them using layers in photoshop. The results were spectacular, as with overlays can erase parts while highlighting more strongly to continue keeping them in good condition, such as the color of human skin, or inserting pants with blouses or jackets camouflages. It is also a very easy system to work. Greetings all.

That's an interesting idea and concept. I am guessing you are working with the Sprite Sheets and not the Individual Sprites. Considering that one soldier might have over 800 sprites... it would be a monumental task to work with all of those in layers. I do use layers when I build new Sprites... I just completed the new UK_Bren Soldier... I added around 250 new sprites that were not included in the original Soldier. Just the Sprites for kneeling took some time; 3 Sprites x 8 Directions (Total 24) for Kneeling Idle. 4 Sprites x 8 Directions (Total 32) for Kneeling Shooting. 6 Sprites x 8 Directions (Total 48) for Kneeling Throwing Grenades. 3 Sprites x 8 Directions (Total 24) for Kneeling Binoculars Total 128 just for the kneeling stances in Summer alone. The Africa Textures were also added for a overall total of 256 Sprites. The UK_Squad_Leader is derived from the UK_Sten, but adds a few more things. The UK_Ordnance Solder (Reload) also comes from the UK_Sten. The UK_Commando also carries the Sten (Mk VI). This soldiers comes from the original Engineer Sprite. I've created over 200 new sprites for this soldier. I'm still working on the UK_Enfield Soldier. So far I added much the same as above. he carries the Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.1 Taking it one step further: From the UK_Enfield, I created the UK_Grenadier... it also has an additional 4 Sprites x 8 Directions (Total 32) for the Shoot Rifle Grenade. He carries the SMLE No. 1 Mk. III and the, No.23 Mk.II Rifle Grenade (Mills Bomb). The UK_Scout also comes from the UK_Enfield, but he has the SMLE No. 1 Mk. III* (HT) Rifle with a scope. He has +3 Sight without his scope and +8 with the scope. The UK_Bren has new Sprites, most for kneeling in Formation. The UK_Boys has new Sprites for kneeling and shooting. I've added new UK_Gunner and UK_Engineer that have more Defensive Options. The UK_Squads will either have 9 or 10 members. The default Formation will be kneeling in a defensive posture. They will be more aggressive than the original Squads with new values and options. The UK_Infantry_Series will be ready for BETA Testing on Wednesday or Thursday. The Sprites shown below (except walking Sten) are all new .
