STUG UPDATEThe StuGIII Series II has been posted for download on my MediaFire Page. Notice: Players should delete previous releases. Some unil folders have been renamed for consistency. Model F have been renamed to F1 so they fall before F8 in File Directory. Model E has been modified to include most of F8 Standard, except MGs. F1 and F8 Models have a new Barrel Choke but use the same UV section has the G Choke. Models C-F8 have new Driver Scope Parts on the UV. Model G have redesigned Barrel Choke and Scope Parts. Model G also have increased Armor values due to 30mm Armor plates on the Front. Players should satisfy themselves as to Armor and Weapon Settings. All Weapons are capable of direct and indirect fire with extended Ranges. Players can change these to AT Guns only by changing the weapons to BK original Weapons named similary. This also requires a change to the Command Portion of the 1.xml binary to remove indirect fire and bombard functions. Contact MP for a new 1.xml if needed. Report any issues to MP via PM or Email. I appreciate the people who assisted on this project. I also apologize to the Players for the issues that just did not seem to end. It should be noted that this Series deviates greatly from my previous works. Several new types of geometric keys were included, along with some weapon designs. The Rider Files are about 50% complete and will be released as an update which will install into the correct Folders when un-zipped. The Riders with an updated 1.xml file will be added to all of the StuG folders. This release will be ready in a few days for download, after some testing. StuGs with my base skins: www.mediafire.com/download/kl8kpi11ddytvs3/DE_StuGIII_Series_II.zipStuGs with VO Skins: www.mediafire.com/download/8iac8dk0fw18fs0/DE_StuGIII_Series_VO-Textures.zip(Some may need slight changes around new Scope parts but most have been modified.) (Also, VO Model names have slight changes in names, and are missing the F & G models with MGs.) Thanks

Quick Update: ERROR SPOTTED
The loader file has incorrect names for the following files:
StuGIII_Ausf=F8_G_2MG
StuGIII_Ausf=F8_G_3MG
These should read to properly Load the Folders: (Note the Hyphen rather than underscore between F8 and G).
StuGIII_Ausf=F8-G_2MG
StuGIII_Ausf=F8-G_3MG
Here are the corrected lines if you wish to Copy and Paste:

<type>mesh</type> <game_type>unit</game_type> units\technics\german\SPG\StuGIII_Ausf=F8-G_2MG

<type>mesh</type> <game_type>unit</game_type> units\technics\german\SPG\StuGIII_Ausf=F8-G_3MG

Sorry for this mistake. It will be corrected very soon.
The Riders are nearly complete and will be released initially by themselves.
There has been a slight Change to the Hull on the A and B models. I improved the Gunner Scope Hatch. These changes will be released with the Riders.
The Rider File can be extracted in the Data Folder and will populate the correct folders. If you have made skin changes to the A or B Models, remove Skins before extracting since the A & B Folders will contain Base Skins with new parts.
As of this writing, the StuG Series has been downloaded over 500 times...
Releasing the Riders independently will save download time. The file is 34mb. About the same as the StuG Models alone. This is due to the Rider Models having 6 Model files in each folder, totaling 29 models each. This is common on Rider Files, although some can be larger if the Squad is larger than 10.
After several weeks, I will combine the StuG Series with the Riders, thus making the overall Download Size around 70mb, one of the largest releases.
Thanks

Man o man.... Our State is on Fire everywhere. All across the US Midwest, and western states... we are having historic weather events and fires. Tonight, the situation report advises that there are still 72 fires not under control just in Oklahoma alone. That is about 1 in every County. Our crews are all in their stations tonight... for the first time in a week. I have not slept more than 4 hours at a time in the last week or so. So forgive me that I must do what I was born to do. Thursday will be a tough day, with summer like temperatures, low humidity between 15 and 20% and winds at 22 knots gusting to over 55 knots. A recipe for disaster. All it takes is a few dozen idiots to go out and start fires and we lose rows of houses and towns main streets. Departments have been writing citations for thousands of dollars and arresting people that do not listen to what we have been saying... DO NOT LIGHT ANY FIRES - UNDER PENALTY OF LAW
As much as I hate to admit it... I used to believe there was hope for stupid people. In the last week my opinion on this has been changed. You cannot fix stupid... period.
I just wanted you guys to know I'm still here...... but very busy...

UPDATE
We FINALLY received some rain in our area last night. As things moderate, I hope I can get some things done. The rain will not solve the short term issues... things will still be dry until grass and trees come out of dormancy. I expect that is still a month away, but as long as we can see rain every couple of days, things will return to normal. Yesterday, we saw a shift in the weather and it was a day without a fires, finally.
Today... I am updating our reports so we can get them out of the way. We've documented so many fires that our crews took part in, that I have lost count. I'm sure one of my pencil-pusher officers knows the answer to that. But I plan to take off Friday through Sunday for a much needed rest... and to get back on track around here.

What was next in your BK-Models plannings (after Stug-Series) when the weather interrupted everything?

Well even though we did get some rain, the very next day we were back on the Fireline, and continue to be.
The winds have been upwards of 25 to 40 mph. The humidity down around 20%. The temperatures more like June than March 1st.... around 75 to 80 F. And nothing is greening up yet... meaning it is a tenderbox since fuel is all over the place.... grass, trees, brush... dry and not coming out of dormancy.
Despite a little rain last night, our crews have been on a 140 acre fire this morning. It is just frustrating because these fires are caused by people. There are just a planet full of morons out there that don't get it yet.

Just a quick update.
Last week: Sunday through Saturday.. my logged hours were 196. That is about average right now for our firefighters. Our State is going through an Historical Event due to the catastrophic wildfires we are experiencing.
Never before have we seen this situation, although 2005-06 was also quite Historical, with very large Wildfires that took and average of 10 homes per day. The Current situation is entire towns have been threatened. I don't have a hard count yet on how many homes have been lost, but about 10 days ago we were around 2100 Statewide. The last 10 days, a majority of the fires have been in moderately populated areas... farms, small villages, small towns, medium towns, small communities with mostly homes.
We had two National Forest and Parklands burn in the last week very near to us. We sent 2 crews to assist the other 14 fire departments there.
But some have asked if I am returning. Well, I have not left... I am reading and trying to keep up with you guys. I just don't post since I really cannot contribute to discussions while I am so damn tired by the time I try to wind down and finally sleep. So yes, I am still here, just busy with my job... and with no end in sight for the current situation, I have no idea where we are going day to day. But I am already ready for my vacation time... I already missed all of my days off for a month. But the situation has been so dire and dangerous, we just have to push everyday to try to save what we can and hope to extinguish when we can.
You all be safe

After finally receiving some very important rainfall for most of a night and part of the next morning, I found time to work on a couple of projects. The StuGs are going through the final changes as i hope to put that Series to bed finally. I worked on the Italian Series with the hope to release it very soon.
Having said that, we are back on the Fire lines again. The rain only gave us a two day break, but nothing has changed with the fuel load. Trees and grasses are still dormant, but the light at the end of the Tunnel is now within sight. We expect and early Spring any time now as grass begins to green and the trees begin to produce leaves. The key is they start drinking water as they come out of their winter slumber.
We still have the idiots that will start fires along roadways, or in fields, or even forests. We caught two subjects last week that torched a 400 acre pasture. They claimed it was their pasture, but this proved to be a lie, and both remain in jail waiting their arraignment this morning. The maximum penalty can be 10 years in prison with approximately $50,000 in Fines and Restitution. The Charges are Arson 1 and Causing Destruction of Property under Title 2 of the Forestry and Cropland Statutes. You cannot fix stupid.
I will report my progress as I hope for a return to some kind of normalcy very soon.

I found some additional time to work today. Because our situation seems to be improving now, we are trying to rotate people on faster turns until we get back to the normal schedule. But my staff insisted that I take a day off and so I did. I had a Doctor appointment this morning and they questioned why should I come back in; so to the house I did go. I'll be glad when I can take 2 days off and perhaps a 3rd where I can lock myself into my little office and do some serious work. It should be soon.... real soon.
More Later
