Regarding the map entries, I must say that both maps are very competent. One lacks in refinement and object selection (BTW, which map is which??), but besides that, it is a very interesting scenario that, for the most part, actually works.
The author of the other map has also gotten a great boost into mapping. A very nice map with a good layout and force balance.

I do find a couple of problems with the second entry. If you call for paratroopers (not sure why they're in there) you get an abortion when the troops should start dropping. I also have no idea how to set up a depot with the "large repair truck." There are four of them the same size. Which one is the large one, and what do I do with it to get the depot?
So I fixed the paratrooper problem by replacing the Soviet "paradropers" with German ones. I ended up with 36 squads of infantry wandering the map.
I defeated all enemy ground attacks, but could not figure out how to make the objective complete. Anyone have any suggestions?

You should probably talk to me before modifying my entry. As there were only two entries it should not have been difficult to contact me.
The single tracked cargo vehicle should be directed to the group of buildings. This will trigger the supply depot reinforcement.
I did not have any problems with paratroops though I did not intend to use them. I will take a look at that though I realize its too late to change my entry.
There are multiple objectives. One of which is to send a motorcycle down the road. However, at a given time a motorcycle will still travel up the road with orders to withdraw. When any german vehicle enters the map area located on the road at the bottom of the map the player will win. But only after being ordered to withdraw.
I thought the map had to be 12x12. Oh well. Better luck next time I suppose.
EDIT: Dont know why I thought my submittal was edited. I apologize. The problems were probably due to me using BKBH instead of stock BK so I suppose I should have read the rules better. Sorry about that.

I don't recall a paratrooper crash, but I'm not sure I used them either (I remember thinking about it ). The mission finished for me.

I see. I moved the four support trucks all over the compound trying to activate the supply mode. The little rappenschneller I left outside.
I only modified my own version of the mission while I was playing it, to get rid of what was causing the abortion.
I did modify the mission earlier for public distribution, but I told you about that. That involved changing the map .xml file to a .bzm file and getting rid of the extraneous map files. I would not presume to modify the functioning of the mission itself (except for my own purposes.) What I put out for public consumption was your original mission.
I would also like to say that, even though I didn't get it to work properly, I still enjoyed playing it.

I thought the map had to be 12x12. Yes. It also was supposed to be playerside Germany. However, since we only had two entries, we had to go with what we got. Can't have a horse race with only one horse.
Both good and interesting entries for "first-time mappers," I must say.
For anyone else who is thinking of testing and voting on these two good missions, the poll closes Nov. 9.

Still a good job Danzig70! Don't worry about the score; it's kinda sad there were only 2 entries and maybe a bit unfair i was your only opponent, not quite a first-time mapper.

Okay, the entries are all in and the voting is done and closed.
We have a clear and popular winner, Entry Number One. That was Frostbite by .... Oh, wonderful. I didn't make a note, I've forgotten, and I think I deleted his entry email. Anyway, please identify yourself.
Runner-up with special good mention was Danzig70 with Entry Number Two, Timbermill. Possibly the true winner, because he paid attention to detail and produced a mission as detailed in the contest instructions.
Congratulations to both of you on excellent entries, and thank you both for entering!
I will repeat, I enjoyed playing both entries, as I will bet all you who tried them out did as well.
Okay, I did not delete his entry email. The creator of Frostbite was Kaoz. Good work!

Hopefully we have more entries next time. I was sooo busy, I haven't even tried either entry, but I will. Congratulations to both mappers! zaltar

zaltar, kaoz, I submitted a German mission and a Soviet chapter for Operation Apocalypse. Do you have the original copies? I can't seem to find them in my computer memory complex.

Ummm... I know that I have the Soviet Chapter: if I'm not mistaken, it's in the release version. I don't think that I have the German Mission, but that just might be lousy memory with so many missions...
