Mr. Prosecutor, and defendants: In my humble opinion I need to look this over and think about the content for a while. I agree with the concerns expressed, but I also am aware there has been no attempt to truly attack on a national or theological basis.
However, having said that, I must consider who might see some of this and take exception and become hurt, frustrated or angry, or insulted... and the potential repercussions that could follow.
It is a time like this when we must remember that we are truly a International Forum. Some content is restricted to members' IDs and IPs only, but this topic is not one of them. So this can be seen by anyone, anywhere, anytime.... and there is the rub.
I will call a recess and lock the courtroom right after the Prosecutor makes a short statement.
I plan to reconvene the court one hour after the prosecutor ends his statement and I call the recess. That will allow me to reference some case law on this topic and make a ruling.
I do maintain absolute authority to remove or edit what I deem inappropriate or that falls into one or more of the potential situations listed above.
I see no intent to deceive the court or the public, so there will not be a penalty phase following my ruling, thus there will be no sentencing guidelines required. The matter will be resolved to the satisfaction of the defendants and the State Prosecution.
All remain seated and silent for the moment. During the recess, I recommend Maria's Pizzeria across the street.
Mr. Prosecutor: the floor is yours...

Your Honor I fully agree with Prosecutor Kaoz on this matter. I would like to add one more thing, topic name is military humor. As far as I understood it's quite similar to gallows humor and i'm fine with that. However what ariete posted can't be classified entirely as military humor. Further, I don't care what Ariete's political opinions may be and I think that he didn't mean harm, but what if we have Israeli members on our forum? Syrians? Iraqis? Would they be offended? I for one think they could be... ... and to quote ariete: "courious is how, in all countries, certain humor about certain people can't be accepted, i alrady said, the worst dictatorship."Here I disagree with him. It's not a problem if somebody lives in a country ruled by dictatorship. "Problem" lies in a fact that each country has a unique mindset. Therefore we can't expect that a picture (no. 1 Obama and Israeli Prime minister) won't provoke some very angry reactions. To conclude I suggest we keep this thread as a thread dedicated solley to military humor. Political jokes, if Your Honor wants to keep them, should be placed in off topic part of the forum. Though I suggest we remove political jokes entirely as they have no place here whatsoever. Besides nobody is preventing Ariete to use PM for this kind of posting. Grot regarding the avatar: it's Sergei Eisenstein, Soviet movie maker. He is considered as one of the most influential individuals in history of modern film. I agree with your statement about his appearance. |

It is obvious that the tank crew is thinking about "when will the ARV get here?" and I'm hungry. (sidebar for a moment) Court is recess for 1 hour... It is the opinion of this court that some of the images did present concerns as to the application or display to a world wide audience. These images and following comments and references have been struck from the transcripts and the court record.
Please note the Actions taken by Mediation on previous posts. Side note as to Cousin Vinny's Status. He wore those same black and white shoes I warned him about the last time he came to disrupt the court. He has been sentenced to 45 days at the Dalton Maximum Containment Correctional Compound for contempt of court. The court has seized the shoes for evidence and will be destroyed....  Court is adjourned.

it's always an honor have a post censored .. i wanted mean mediated (it sounds much more democratic) by you major  Political jokes, if Your Honor wants to keep themi had to do no politic, my view is so over which can't be simplify in a term or be catalogued. for me it's just the reality, in which nobody can't be hit except everybody us. if with - your honor- you're refering to a phrase i used in my avatar previously, that was because i looked for a name for the resources pak i'm building and that about honor and loyalty, which for me is the value of a person, sounds cool for me. then i choosed another one with strong meaning as well. anyway, surely the modern free man find useless things like loyalty, honor, respect .. they can't be converted in money. edit : ahahah major, that italian shoe could fits you perfectly |

you know, I agree with you on everything Ariete.
This is the reality of the time we life in. The world is certainly smaller than when some us grew up; No world wide web, phones you carried around in your pocket, TVs on your watch...
During the last 60 years, I saw things which were truly outstanding and impressive to my generation.
During the last ten years, there has been more Advances in Science, medicine and technology than all of man's previous years combined spanning thousands and thousands of years.
Just think about what the next 10 years or next 60 years will usher in... I wish I could be here to witness it all, but my days will end as many of you guys will only begin to start.
The world is surely more dangerous today than ever before. This is a by-product of years of conflict or disagreements. Some of the parties have fought non-stop for two thousands years, and it is all they understand, that is their purpose in their life.
When we make a joke about any of the planets occupants, we lower ourselves to an incredible level of judgement. Many who have made referenced or joked have been found days later in pieces. My concern is we not poke the bear. We have no choice but to respect each civilization, theology, national Standards, and cultural establishments. There is no position that any of us can take except neutral.... and non judgmental.
This is why politics, as well as other explosive issues cannot be discussed or displayed within the Forum. Politics are at all levels of each of our lives, country, and neighbors aborad or next door. Politics can turn the best of friends into raging barbarians within a few comments or sentences.
It is what we have become... So we must resist the temptation and understand the difference between what we might find funny or odd, but offensive and potentially a reason to ignite the powder keg to others.
So lets work together to prevent potential issues.

"Your Honor" ariete is a term used when you adress the court, more precisely a Judge. It has nothing to do with Meine Ehre heisst treue motto that you used. If you leave one land mine out there, the law of probability tell us... someone will step on it. But if you drop a large sum of money in the same location, you will not find it because the law of probability tell us someone has beaten you to it. So once you put the statement out there... how do you ever walk it back if it is offensive to anyone? The damn thing about it is... it does not matter what your intention was, it is all about how someone makes an issue about it and how they react. That is where it is near impossible to overcome and resolve. |

Guys, don't take my (prosecutor) words too serious. Although they might have a point, I was only toying.
Of course, it's not up to me to define what can and what can't. Nevertheless, we all know by now how politics can ruin everything. |
