I'm playing the stalingrad chapter in the soviet campaign and it have some of the best missions I played on these last years. In the "Battle over Don" mission I spent more than 1 hour just to take one single village, because the german forces were so well located and I needed to try differents ways to attack it. I'm not sure, but I believe the map author is Zigfrid, he was really good!

Hi Blitzmod have you tried to downloaded the one i uploaded on Mediafire ? link
be sure to have 9 files of 190mb (part1 to 9) and one of 136mb (part10) if one part is not complete you must download it again, check with the windows explorer not in your internet browser, sometimes the weight that you can see isn't correct it tells you that the file is ok but when you check with the windows explorer you find the file incomplete.

Can you send me by PM a screenshot of your data folder ? (where we can see the weight of the files)
Because i must check the weight of the .pak files, if they're good i must download the part to find the corrupts parts and re-upload the files(i have a backup of the files), it can took 30hours so this is why i prefer checking your install in first, because i had tested the files before uploading them but it happen that a file uploaded one or two years ago works good then became corrupted.

Also if re-downloading doesn't help, try this:
1. Open data folder then,
2. Open maps folder and delete anything that is inside
3. Open scenarios folder and do the same
It should run fine after that.

If the .pak files were corrupted you couldn't extract them from the .rar archive, it said you that a .pak file is corrupted, and if you had put a .pak file corrupted in the data folder the game would crashed when you launched it. If the mission that you speak is the one which i think the problem you have is because there's an officer or a soldier (or a squad) in ambush mode who must be killed to activate the script, explore the area with your infantry soldier ! Can you post a screenshot of the mission you're speaking here or create a thread in the GZM sub-forum with the name of the mission ?

The .pak file is not the issue. If you can play any map, then the .pak file is fine. The game.exe creates a Object Table from the Objects added and registered within the .pak file.
If there was any kind of mistake or if it were corrupted, the game.exe would abort the game entirely, so it would crash back to the Windows Screen. You will not get a message about what has happened.
The .pak file basically is a zip file which has been renamed to .pak It contains all of the Object folders, map folders, and map scripts in the correct folder locations. In this case, the .pak file may contain a objects.xml or modobjects.xml file which is key to the operation of the MOD.
The objects.xml or modobjects.xml file does two things:
1) provides the name of each object, and 2) provides the path of each object.
This data is used to Register each Object in the Objects Table for the game. As each Object is Registered, the compiler gives it a unique ID number in the Objects Table. The Objects Table then provides the Name and Path for each Object to the game engine.
So what is the Path?
Some players do not know what this means.
The Path is the location of an object in the Blitzkrieg File System. The Path is the location of the Object Folder.
example: C:\Blitzkrieg Anthology\BH-RT\Run\Data\Units\technics\german\tanks\Pz_III_Ausf_J
The above line is the entire path for the tank's data folder.
The objects.xml or modobjects.xml only needs to look for the Tank within the Blitzkrieg System Folders...
So it looks like this:
<item> <name>Pz_Kpfw_III_Ausf_J</name> <type>mesh</type> <game_type>unit</game_type> <path>units\Technics\German\Tanks\Pz_III_Ausf_J</path> </item>
Note that the Path begins at Units... the Child Folder under the Data Folder, the Parent Folder.
If an Object is Named and Registered within the objects.xml or modobjects.xml, the Path must be correct. If the Path is incorrect, the game will crash.
The Difference between the objects.xml and modobjects.xml
If the MOD only uses objects within the .pak file, it is likely that the MOD .pak file will include a objects.xml file. The objects.xml is considered the primary source of data for the game.
If the MOD adds new objects to the game, it is likely that the MOD .pak file includes an modobjects.xml. The modobjects.xml is considered a supplemental source of the data for the game.
Other issues that may cause a freeze or crash:
Every Object has it's own 1.xml file. This 1.xml stores the parameters and functions of the Object... in other words... the 1.xml tells the game engine what this Object can do. If a parameter is incorrect, (out of bounds), or any line in the 1.xml is incorrect, the game will crash or freeze. Much depends on the type of error. However, these issues should be discovered by the Map Editor since it uses the very same objects.xml or modobjects.xml. If there is an issue, the Map Editor will abort, meaning the program either freezes or crashes to Windows.
But.... if an Object's 1.xml was changed, and has an error, after the map or MOD was created, and then packaged within the .pak file, clearly the Object Data will cause issues for the game engine.
I need to clarify something. Not every Object is always used in every MOD. If an Object that has a error in the 1.xml does exist within the objects.xml or the modobjects.xml, and is included within a MOD or MAP .pak file.... it will not cause an issue it is is never used. The key point here is while the Object is Registered in the Object Table, the error in the Object's 1.xml will not be accessed by the Game Engine... so there will be no way for the Game Engine to flag the error and abort.
Issues with the MOD or MAPS.
The most likely cause for your problem is there is an issue with a MAP's Script file... or perhaps a missing Objects in the .pak file. If the MOD has another criteria to be associated with, like another MOD or Game Version, then the game will crash or freeze. If you are missing a Patch that provides data to the Objects Table to Register an Object or Map Script, the Game will Crash or Freeze.
But it is mostly likely that the Map Script is your cause for the issue. There should be a Patch which resolves this... or perhaps your System is not Running everything it should. If the map Author is still around, you should check with him/or them to see if the issues has been reported and corrected.
If the Map Script is correct, and you are running all of the prerequisites, and it still does not run... the only thing you can do is what you are doing... ask other players. If issues like yours have been found by other players, you have more to compare against, and a stronger case to make with the Map Creator.
