I read an article on a french website where Nival states that their goal for BK3 will be reinventing online RTS for modern players, so me, you and some others aren't modern players apparently . Or maybe the translator was totaly drunk, i don't know... I think Nival will cry big tears when they learn that after a few months hype, the game will be lost in the short memory the same 'modern players' have these days. I think they have a sort of "World of Tanks Blitzkrieg style' in mind, but I would not have placed my bet on that direction. It is not a difficult market research to find out that there is a huge potential under 'less modern' players, and their longing for a decent new tactical game. If you see the 'hits' on the upcoming Close Combat game, with over 100.000 views, Graviteam games that knew a rising growth in their sales after there first release of "Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943", the huge interest for Blitzkrieg I for over 12 years. The popularity of games like combat mission...These are all game companies who did not make a genuflection for the sake of the 'modern player'. The truth is, imo, Nival chose the wrong path in an effort to reach a broad public, but lost its way in making a game that seems to have no 'personality'. Now their hope is to satisfy the 'modern gamer', since the 'old veterans' allready shared some hard critics on what is presented up to now. I for a long time hoped, Nival would be smart and would have choose both ways. It would have been possible; make a more 'arcadish style' online game, with 'free participant base', as seen in World of tanks, where you can buy upgrades, and a very deep tactical, realistic single player campaign. Then put on an 'open source' like in BK I and a decade of dedicated modern and old gamers could have been the result.

OK downloading this crap ill post my impressions... Well..what are your impressions? Last week I looked at some ingame footage, and the visual aspect is really very impressive. But in my eyes they made an onforgiveable sin for a tactical game, and that is to put in 'base building'. If there's one thing I hate, its this. I hated it in COH and I will hate it with BK III. Its in my opinion the most unrealistic element one can put in a game based on 'real events'. Well, I never seen a working tankfactory in the frontlines, spitting out units. I only remember a traktor factory in Stalingrad.

There were similar cases like STZ. Tula factories, Leningrad factories, Užice factories in Yugoslavia, but that point stands, those are isolated cases. Same goes for COH-isation of Blitzkrieg.

i have the Game installed since the closed Beta started in February but i only played it 10 times or something and quitted soon everytime.
Its much more better than Company of Bankers with the Resources- Shit where skills and knowledge dont count much, but i missed many things (Trenches the most) - in fact its not my choice of a good ww2 game.
The Look is very nice especially details have been made very well as we know it from BK. Here i can say things are very, very good Done!
