Zero: Just a detail. Judging from the flags is seems that the Germans have total control over this town. Maybe they did not yet get to removing the image of comrade Stalin on the building in the last screenshot. Now I which I could get into your map and have a beer somewhere near the river. Under that green and white umbrella looks like a nice spot. Looking forward to the next screenshots. Enjoy the mapping! Yeah, that's a problem! It's not like they're friends but more so that I like the building itself. If I could I would remove the "Lenin-images", but for the time being I sort of pretend that it's a banner saying that this is a leader we need to get rid of, (from a German point of view), or something... And yes, I hope I can offer you some even greater spots to have a beer in this town - except for the northern island of course where the German base is located... I will. I just had in mind something different, but oh well... Thanks though! On another note, once again getting familiar with my file folders I noticed these two "Invisible tiles", but I can't remember their usage! Anyone? And I just downloaded Mazka's trams - genious work in all its glory! Is it possible to script them so they travel around the city during normal game? Edited to add;Has anyone been using that warship in the picture? I don't know if there's a problem with it, but when it noticed one of my test tanks in game it started to follow it, leaving the water and ran around through the streets...

Had a bit of a struggle with this particular block today as I ended up with five roads crossing each other just a meter from the bridgehead. But I'm slowly getting where I want to go with this map...

I think it's possible to assign the tram to player 2 and make a start command containing coordinates the tram has to get. I think it's also possible to use a patrol script. There should be useful informations here: www.geocities.jp/kwx50/bm/index.html

Both the tram and boat are Mazka's and mine (he created the model and I... well, I tried to paint it). Did you take them from OBM? Hmm, are you using invisible bridges or just water roads?

Seeing as the AI can have some troops going from one point to another continuously on a map, I figured it should be possible to assign something similar to civilians/vehicles. If nothing else it adds some more realism and above all make a town "come to live"! Thank you Folgore! I downloaded both of them from Mazka's thread, and I'm only using real visible bridges - so far... ;p Perhaps a set of fake water to place along the shore would be the solution...

Slow progress forward due to real life committments... It's becoming a rather hilly city to be honest, but in the end I think it'll give a challenge. Besides, battles in towns compared to the countryside should be a lot more difficult, right? I'm also making some hazardous structures and obstacles to reach the German HQ on the island upnorth. One bridge from this area to that location, and on top of that with some enemy positions alongside...

What mod are you using for making this map or yours?

Actually none - apart from the games I have installed; BK Anthology, (incl. Iron Division), Mission Kursk, Stalingrad, The Day After and Cuban Missile Crisis, (not sure about the two latest ones as the first one is purchased from a game store, and the second one from Virgin Media online store. Haven't played none of them as I prefer the WWII era, but are they in fact one and the same?). On top of that I have loads of buildings and objects from some other games collected ever since 2008-2009 previously available on sites such as BKPortal and BK HQ.
Edited to add;
A quicky, if I have two harddrives on my computer with C:// as my main where I also have my BK-game installed, can I install a second copy of BK on the other harddrive, in this case E://? Reason for asking is that I want to run two map editors, one for each installation, so I can take advantage of my previous maps layout when working on this new one!

It should be no problem to have different versions of BK running on your computer. In my experience you only need to install BK once. If you have the Anthology version of BK you can copy the complete folder of Blitzkrieg and paste it to another folder or drive on your computer. In fact I run BK versions from a pen drive. It's possible that this works for other versions too. Also tried this with my Panzerkrieg installation and it works. You then just run the map editor of your choice.

Well, making a copy and adding a BK-installation onto my other harddrive gives me a runtime error when trying to run the map editor - and the game too. Is there a specific file, that I may have installed in my main harddrive, needed for it work?
The message itself;
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:E://Blitzkrieg Anthology/Blitzkrieg/Run/mapeditor.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

That's strange. Which operating system are you using ? I run my portable versions of BK an PK on both XP and Win 7. BK Anthology even runs under Linux(using Wine).

Yeah, it's strange. Not sure if there's a specific Microsoft file needed or if it'll work better with a clean installation on my E:// drive... I'll try it first...

I never tried installing the same version of a BK release in different directories. Let me know if it works.

I will! Not sure if I find the time tonight though... too much fun creating... At least some open spaces in this bustling city... totally unaware of what to come...

It's higly unlikely that warships dock in cities. When this happens (like in Venice) there is always a wide area clear to allow operations This below is the Amerigo Vespucci (the training ship of the Italian Navy) in Venice. commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Venezia_-_Amerigo_Vespucci.JPG
