Blitzkrieg was released by NIVAL in June of 2003. This was followed by the Stand Alone Releases Burning Horizon (June 2004) and Rolling Thunder (Nov 2004).
Several other Blitzkrieg versions were released over year including Blitzkrieg Anthology, which was a re-release of the Original Blitzkrieg, Burning Horizon, Rolling Thunder and Iron Division.
It is still popular and there is a viable Blitzkrieg Community.
But of course... this is not anything we already did not know.

Instead of a dubious "modernized new version" as is promised, I'd gladly pay for an optimized version of the present game, with the features suggested here and other community spaces and better suited for recent operational systems and machines. But the creators didn't even care about support, what to say of hearing our plea?

But the creators didn't even care about support, what to say of hearing our plea? Improved MP optimization would be key... Imagine playing a 5vs5 without lag/sync problems. Good games... -iLeeT_PeeP

A computer game that is still popular 10 years after it was released is special.Just come to think of it that today's smartphones have processor's and memory with specifications that are far superior to the recommended computer specifications for playing BK back in 2003. This is how things have moved since then in terms of technology.
However, I often wonder if BK was a real commercial success. Does anyone have an idea how many copies of the game where sold over the years?

Does anyone have an idea how many copies of the game where sold over the years? Taken directly from wikipedia... How many of us now... Are playing on machines multiple times as powerful... I did not upgrade my PC until recently a year or so back because BK always ran just fine... Until about 1 year ago I was still on a Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz processor... Good games all. -iLeeT_PeeP
