if i read properly, you guys are able to play like you usually do now? if so, awesome! also; nice job on the redesign of icons, it wasn't needed but I'll remember to post that on our new site as for the person (cant remember the name sorry) who hated the douche putting viruses in his software, add me on skype or steam @ngfrost (same goes for anyone else here) i'll make sure it's YOUR software that's on the openspy site with a link to this exact site

frostyhawkI hope you don't mind me lifting your OpenSpy Logo... It seemed like the right thing to do at the moment. We're working now trying to complete the transition package so players can use a single file to migrate over. Game Play seems pretty good, with a couple of crashes in the testing phase. Chat seems to go down at times, but come back up within a few seconds to a minute or so. Jagged Steel has tested more thoroughly than I have, but I've been working on the various screens. I'm not really a Multiplayer so I can't draw a comparison between OpenSpy and Gamespy. I am told the few issues we are having are expected and less frequent than GameSpy, but again, I'm not the expert on MP. I'm wondering if you have noticed any changes on your side as to usage, or an increase in glitches. On behalf of the Blitzkrieg Community, thanks for your support. MP

our server crashes every day on average but were trying to get it to crash less, so far your gameplay has had no effect on the server per se.
also the logo is free to use man, don't worry about it lol, if you needed a better quality one, you could have even asked xD

If it works for you, it works for me...
I had to remove the really small fonts, they were impossible to read against our menu background. I slightly recolored the graphic so it could stand out.
So far, players seemed pleased with the graphic and reference changes... changing from Gamespy to OpenSpy. I'm trying to discuss some of our options with NIVAL, the developer, so perhaps I can get hold of the Multiplayer Code. I already have been able to dissect the Game Front End that includes the Multiplayer Option, so that will make it possible to further update some of our options. I'm hoping to make the Multiplayer a bit more user friendly with some menu graphic changes.
The original Blitzkrieg Code that drives the Menu and the Multiplayer turns out to be the same code that lets Players play a Single Player Missions, Campaigns or Multiplayer. Every version of Blitzkrieg that I have looked at in the last few days uses the same code, with slight changes to specific versions as to what options are turned on/off. The code is pretty straight forward and will allow me to expand the Multiplayer to BK Burning Horizon and Rolling Thunder fairly easily... if demand is there. The issue is the number of players who typically make changes to their files, so fresh stock installs will be required for multiplayer.
I watched the video you tagged and I'm hoping some of our guys can help you out. We have a lot of talent in the community.
One of our biggest problems at the moment is getting the word out to the Multiplayers that We have the GameSpy solution. Not all of them are members in the community. So we're looking for ideas or help to spread the word. Many will be unable to play on June 1st if they do not get the message. Some of the guys here are working overtime to pass the word, but so far, the results have been lower than expected. perhaps the last week of May we'll see a rush coming to OpenSpy.
Again... thank you for your support.

Hi all, @major Pain : Thank you for overlay, but Jagged sent me in the meantime. In any case, it works perfectly. We also tested Openspy with Jagged, playing a 1:37 game. We had some lag, especially when many units move (Especially infantry), but a session on Gamespy would probably react the same way. It should also take into account the distance between Jagged and myself. This is why I wanted to test with a friend, without success. In fact, I tried to host a game session. Jagged was present, but when I'm hosting session, they ( Jagged and my friend) did not see me. Usually, with Gamespy, I can host without problem. Maybe I missed a manipulation, but it would be interesting to see if players other than Jagged, able to host. It is essential ... Enjoy the game,

What we need to move things forward is definitely more testing. I am around during the day , and I am trying to get a few announcements on the Gamepsy chat room and then hop back to Openspy and stay there, but I cant really take time to play a game or anything like that. My game time is evening pacific time, like right now. I got Offikrieg by the way, I will get that in and maybe we can give it a try the next time we can line up a match.
P.S: After you and your friend left the server rebooted, it is possible that your issue was related to the system being partially down. For those that don't know, Gamespy usually crashes/ boots everyone/ reboots at least once a day. The Openspy team says they are experiencing 2-3 shutdowns a day, and it has an auto reboot built into it, so somone does not usually have to be on call to reset the server. We would all love there to never be crashes and reboots, but this is pretty good.

Mogwaii: Thank you sir... I'm glad it is working for you. I think the BETA version has passed the test so I'll release it on my mediaFire Tomorrow. @js... if you want to bounce over to GameSpy then try to play a test round, I'll cover the chat for a couple of hours. I'm recovering tonight from my chemo treatment earlier today so I'm not doing much of anything but laying around. I might drift off, but I have the uncanny ability to snooze with one eye open. ( I just don't know what the hell I'm looking at... )

I like the new screen, MP. There is the issue of the BK luddites in the multiplayer contingent though, and there are quite a few of them. They would consider changing anything on their vanilla BK to be heresy. So long as the option to maintain using the Openspy patch on it's own while keeping everything else in BK stock is kept, a nice graphics fix like that would be wonderful.

Hi all, I was finally able to host a game session My firewall seemed to be involved in the fact that my game were not visible. In this, we have tested Openspy with my friend. I did not need to open ports for Gamespy or a set Ip. Know that for this test, we were both in France (North and South West). We conducted two tests. 1 via Openspy and IP Direct. Openspy on, we had a ping of about 170 /183. In game, I haved some lags and my opponent, some very little lags. IP Direct, we had a ping around 43 /73. In game, and always on the same map, less or not lag for me, and almost none or not for my opponent. In this, we must still conduct tests because this test can not be representative of all the game sessions Openspy nevertheless appears as a good compromise to Gamespy. Thank you to its developers ... That's all for today.
