I'm sorry Mike... I misunderstood your question.
You do not need the Patch for GameRanger. You only need to set up your account for BK.
GameRanger supports original (vanilla) Blitzkrieg and Rolling Thunder. I have no information if this has been expanded.
The OpenSpy Patch only resolves the GameSpy issue for the Proprietary Server Option on the Multiplayer Interface.
It replaces the GameSpy Interface code with the new OpenSpy Interface Server Code.

Which version of Blitzkrieg do you have?
The Multiplayer PATCH will only work on original Blitzkrieg or Blitzkrieg Anthology.
It will not work for Rolling Thunder or Burning Horizon. These Patches have not been released yet.
The Patch for STEAM Anthology has not been released yet. The current Patch for OpenSpy does not work for STEAM Anthology users. I am working on the STEAM version Patch. There is a slight difference in how each version uses the game tables which requires a re-calibration to a common platform.
Because of the way STEAM BK Anthology has been released, Steam Players cannot see other players with Standard BK Anthology, and vice versa. Both can co-exist with the released Patch, but play is not possible at the moment until I recalibrate the STEAM version game files.
**
OpenSpy Players have indeed been online over the last several months. However, word is still getting out during this process. We were prevented by GameSpy from posting or announcing the solution, so many former GameSpy Multiplayers are just finding their way here for this information. I have worked with NIVAL for the last several months to make these Code Changes in the Interface possible.
The Patch for all new downloaded versions of Blitzkrieg Anthology from GOG.com and Amazon.com is ready.
The Patch for STEAM Blitzkrieg Anthology is in development, as indicated above.

I got the 1.2 Version of the original Blitzkrieg (and also the Anthology). I have followed the right procedure? I have placed my OpenSpy patcher (.exe) in my Nival Interactive - Blitzkrieg file in Program Files. And I have opened the file to patch it. I can see ingame, that Gamespy is replaced with OpenSpy. Is this right? Or do I need to change anything else also?
Thanks

sep0r: Yes... it is correct based on the placement of the Patch. I need to ask a couple of questions based on your computer. Which Operating System are you using? XP VISTA WIN7 WIN8 MAC What type of MotherBoard are you using? 32 bit 64 bit and other data What type of Graphics card are you using? AGP PCIx PCIe Dedicated/Integrated Other I think it bears mentioning here that there are a few things about Blitzkrieg that could not have been predicted on 2000-01. Newer Operating Systems use the Windows Registry as a roadmap when it comes to many programs. This is also the case with Blitzkrieg. Because of this, a few problems arise if the game is not installed correctly. You mentioned that your Game Path is: C:\Program Files\Blitzkrieg Anthology... This will work on XP, but not later Operating Systems. I really do not recommend it for XP or any other Operating System. The issue? How the game will recognize game files; especially MOD files. Some Multiplayers have reported issues logging into the OpenSpy Server and not seeing other Players. This issue has been associated to the install path of the game. Blitzkrieg Anthology on any operating system, should be installed in the path: C:\NIVALExamples: Blitzkrieg Anthology will look like this: C:\NIVAL\Blitzkrieg AnthologyOriginal Blitzkrieg will install under the Blitzkrieg Anthology Folder BH-RT will also install under the Blitzkrieg Anthology Folder All other versions of Blitzkrieg should be installed where they in in the [C:\NIVAL] Folder. All MODs for BH-RT must be installed in the: [C:\NIVAL\Blitzkrieg Anthology\BH-RT\Run|Mods] Folder We always want our Game to run as smoothly as possible. Most of the issues that the game experiences is in the installation of the game files. More than ever, Multiplayer games must be installed correctly. Reported Issues on BK Multiplayer:Above I mentioned some players are not able to see other players on OpenSpy. This has been attributed to installing the game in the C:\Program Files Folder. Some players have reported that they cannot host games. Some players have reported that they cannot join games. Some players have reported that they cannot see hosted games that they know exist. Everyone of these issues have been attributed to the same install path: C:\Program FilesSTEAM Blitzkrieg AnthologyWe are seeing the same problems on STEAM Blitzkrieg Anthology also. However, the STEAM problem is not due to only the path, but a change in the game table assignments. The STEAM version does not have the RUN Folder which changes the game files as well as the Parent-Child Folder Hierarchy. We (NIVAL and I) have not released the STEAM Patch at this time. I am working on this Patch at the moment.
Because STEAM does not allow a change to the default path, the game is installed in: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Blitzkrieg Anthology
Interested parties should continue to review this Topic for further updates.
sep0r: I recommend that you change your install. Simply moving Blitzkrieg to the C:\ root folder may not work. Depending on the Operating System, you may need to Un-install then Re-install the game. Hopefully you have kept your download source file for Anthology. From this, you can change the default install path.
If you do not uninstall Blitzkrieg correctly, or just move the game... the Windows Registry will still think the game exists on your computer in the original path. This will cause several issues on the new install. So we must make sure that the Windows Registry game data is removed. We cannot effectively do this with REGEDIT.
Note: Any added files (.pak, mods, objects) should be moved to a safe folder until you re-install the game. Also, create a backup of any objects.xml or modobjects.xml files you do not wish to lose.
Rolling Thunder - High Resolution
A long standing issue with BH-RT is the lack of High Resolution Graphics Support.
If you already have the RT Anthology Patch, then save it for the new install along with the config.cfg file in the run menu. If you do not have this Patch, it is available here: www.mediafire.com/folder/ekp5d36iadzgq/RT-Anthology-Hi-Res-fix. You will need both files; config.cfg is placed in the Run Folder. Be sure to rename the original config.cfg to config.bak before you install the new one.

yes... many on on there...
I must ask... which version of BK anthology are you using?
We are still working on the STEAM patch for Openspy... the Current patch does not work with Steam Anthology Blitzkrieg. You can log in, but players cannot see the other players.... Two team players can see each other and play. But there are some differences in how each version handle the game files and codes.
Perhaps I need to setup a Game Schedule System of some type so players can announce game times.

OK... go back and read above....
Do not install the game in: C:\Program Files\Blitzkrieg
The installer will try to use that as the default path...
Read Comments above on that...

Ok...Right now... the "Captain" Server Monitor is on OpenSpy... This is a Non Human user that tracks server data and collects user logins. I just checked it... since UTC 00:00 11-11-14, 45 players have been online. That is as of midnight this morning at Greenland.
Players cannot always see or detect Captain is online... Just depends on if I throw the switch to on. He is "on" now... so if you see him... then your system is working... at least it is logging online. There are issues if the install is not correct and missions are not found... but we know you are at least getting there...
I show Roura online 11-11-14 @ 20:38 UTC and log off at 11-11-14 @21:12 UTC. So you were detected by Captain. You might not have seen him until I made him visible.
