Some people are usually playing on gameranger. I dont know if its still active. The best is maybe to try to find some friends to play regularly

We played 3 maps last night 2v2 on Openspy with no lags crashes or slow down. Just fast paced BK action
It works really well and is much nicer than having to use GR. It is identical to the original Gamespy server, only the name has changed. With Steam and it's glorious functions it easy to arrange games. Why everyone has ignored this and started using GR is a head scratcher.
Anyways, we have arranged a game session for this Saturday the 28th starting at 6pm BST. We are trying to get as many players as possible to join. There is no specific game criteria . It is just a casual meet up for people to arrange and play their beloved Blitzkrieg.
Please join the Steam group for full infos.... steamcommunity.com/groups/StrategicBlitz#announcements
All mature players welcome. No yellow belly Quitters need apply

I am now chat openspy and not see anyone. I think it should be given a lot of propaganda of this platform, so many people connect to Openspy, when people take as usual, the room is always full.

We played 3 games last night 6 players online. It was great. We had some nice smooth crash free games again.
We did have a little sync issues trying to start on match but it turned out the map was bugged.
If anyone want to arrange some games please add me. You can find me in the Steam group, user name Moo.
We are online now in openspy waiting to start a game. We need 1 person to join!

moo In order to load a game in openspy, what ports to open? please. I've been in the map room, but did not see any loaded, and if users saw the chat room, I spoke to you right?

It is possible that we were no games running when you looked in the server list. I can host a server for you to join as a test if you like before you start messing with your router. There is a good chance that you will not have to do anything. Most players have been able to join and host games with no problems at all. If you want to add me over at steam, please feel free.
Here is the information from the gamespy install. I do not know if these ports will be the same for Openspy, You will have to seek the advice from the pro's for a definite answer.
"""You might have problems hosting an Internet game or joining one if you are behind a firewall or have some network traffic blocking programs installed on your computer. This section describes what TCP/IP ports are used by Blitzkrieg and GameSpy. If you are having problems connecting to the GameSpy master server or hosting a game, make sure the following ports are open.
Blitzkrieg uses UDP ports 8889 & 9089.
GameSpy uses the following ports (unless specified otherwise, they're TCP):
6667 (IRC) 80 (HTTP) 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat) 28900 (Master Server List Request) 29900 (GP Connection Manager) 29901 (GP Search Manager) 13139 (Custom UDP Pings) 6500 (incoming, UDP, default roomquery port; can be customized with roomqueryport=<port #> in svc.cfg) """
***Edit*** just found this in another post which explains all............
"When I entered all of these manually into my modem/router it worked. If you have only 8889 and 9089 open you can play but not host on Gamespy or Openspy. The other 8 ports are for Gamespy (and Openspy) functions like querying whether your match is still playing and allowing whispers from the chat lobby to players in game or in game hosting room. I *think* you can host direct IP games with only 8889,9089 open, but I have never verified this."

True, I could not see open items currently.
Nor could I create a new game.
I when I played with GameSpy long ago, everything was fine, even I was "Host".

Ok I hope you can get it fixed with this information. The ports are the same for Gamespy as Openspy, so if you know how to open them you should be fine Maybe we can get some games tomorrow. We will be online in the evening at Approx 9pm BST time if you need help to test. Good luck and Good Night.
