The simple fact that this game is still alive and kicking in the virtual world has reassured me to no end. I bought this game when it first came out and after playing it innumerable times i laid it to rest, that is until about 1 month ago when i accidentally chanced upon the huge treasure trove of custom maps and mods !!! And there began the problems, while all the maps and chapter packs that are in .PAK files run impeccably the ones that are in .bzm and .lua formats are just not playable Among the mods only Heimatfront works properly because the maps are in .pak format and the rest of the mods just change the homescreen and other features but the maps are all unplayable (it says that i do not have the required mod) So if any of you fine gentlemen could help me out i would be much obliged !! Thank you

when we try to discuss something, we should explain well in all its details, to able everybody to understand what you ask. mods must be installed in run/mods, so in this case you should have run/mods/HeimatFront maps in pak files for Heimatfront must be in run/mods/HF/data so load the mod and then call the missions, if you putted the pak files in the correct folder they obviously must work. you can't play a map for HF with another mod, if this is was the doubt. then, the maps in bzm and lua you have, i think, you can quetly play them with vanilla mode, so unload all mods and play those maps you plaied before without problem with game in vanilla. then if you speak spanish, there's a nourished section in this forum to avoid the language barriers.

Okay i will rephrase my problems so that it is easier to understand. 1. Heimatfront mod runs absolutely properly no problems in that. 2. In Operation Apocalypse the mod has been installed and the maps (which are in .bzm and .lua format) have been placed in the maps folder in Blitzkrieg\Run\data. The problem now is that even though the home screen look has changed to Operation Apocalypse mode and the custom missions menu shows all the OA missions whenever i try to play any of them it says that i do not have the required mod. In the load mod options it shows only two things : Detach all mods Heimatfront mod Note : The bzm and lua files are placed in the maps folder that contain the dds files.

Let me see if i can assist on this issue. First of all: The .bzm is the actual map file. The .lua is the Script file If I understand what is going on is you have un-pak-ed Operation Apocalypse. If so, do you know where the other resources went. usually once a .pak is extracted, all of the contents (models, objects, etc...) would populate the correct folders. However, if the modobjects.xml overwrites another modobjects.xml, then the objects database will be corrupt. Operation Apocalypse is designed to run as a Mod and the Source Files must be in the Mod Folder. Any extracted files will be discarded. The modobject file must remain in the Mod File, and not in the primary Data Folder. Another modobject.xml in the primary Data folder will run in preference of the one in the MOD. We should have Kaoz enter this discussion since he is the one that created the last build, and there could be a version issues also. If there is a version conflict, which added a object or model, then you may be missing some of the files. According to the TNT Website, the latest release is Operation_Apocalypse_v3. www.elseweyr.com/htm_filez/apokalypse.htm

Well major I must say you cleared up some of the major doubts regarding the workings. And yes the mod files were put into the data folder and not in a separate mod folder in Blitzkrieg\Run. My version of this mod is the latest i.e V3 and i downloaded it from the site you have mentioned. The mod has been downloaded as an application and simply double clicking on it starts the launcher. So how would you suggest installing the mod now and also what should the process be for the bzm and lua files ? P.S: Is there any site where the mods and maps developed by this community are archived for download ? Geocities is one I found is there any other ? Thanks for your help Major Pain !!

sarbhanu: as Major Pain explains, the whole package needs to be in the mod folder under BK/Run/Mods/Operation_Apocalypse_v3.0. Maps (bzm and lua) also, so not in BK/Run/Data...
Recently, i have a newer (updated) version available. It's not a definite release yet, but until then, this is what it is. Still named v3.0 because i ran into problems when changing the version number (chapters won't load properly and crash).
Operation Apocalypse
This download is simply a zip format. Place this zip into your BK/Run/Mods, rightclick it and select unzip to folder Operation_Apocalypse_v3.0 (if you have of course winzip or 7zip installed). Make sure you have the path BK/Run/Mods/Operation_Apocalypse_v3.0/Data/... and all should work fine.

I downloaded this version and followed your exact instructions but the result is still the same. The load mod option shows OA as an unsupported mod. A few points though. 1.When I first installed this mod (version 3) into my Run\Data folder the home screen look changed to OA mode and the custom missions window was even showing the OA missions. Yet trying to play them was showing the mod not supported message. The maps in this case were bzm and lua and were stored in the maps folder (which contained the dds map files). 2.This time followed all your instructions but the vanilla mode (if that is the correct term)does not show any of the OA missions in custom menu. The Heimatfront ones do show but that might be because I have a HF map pack in the data folder. It might be that my computer does not have the graphics capability to support this mod so I'll try it out on a better laptop later. I'll be able to use a laptop only after the 19th of this month so I will get back to you after that with whatever results achieved.

be sure to have the mod in run/mods/OA, and i repeat the maps for OA in run/mods/OA/data, same for the maps for HF, you must have them in run/mods/HF/data maps for other mods or for vanilla can't be plaied with other mods
- vanilla mode does not show any of the OA missions in custom menu -
this is right.
- It might be that my computer does not have the graphics capability to support this mod -
no particular systems are required, if BK works fine on your pc, all world of BK will work fine on your system

Okay the problem is solved !! OA up and running beautifully !!!! This was causing all the problems : C:\Program Files\Blitzkrieg Anthology\Blitzkrieg\Run\Mods\Operation_Apocalypse_v3.0\Operation_Apocalypse_v3.0 The OA folder within the OA folder, I removed one and then it started working. I tried playing a couple of missions in easy mode but it ain't easy at all. It will be a good challenge to play these missions..... And thank you for your help guys

This was causing all the problems : C:\Program Files\Blitzkrieg Anthology\Blitzkrieg\Run\Mods\Operation_Apocalypse_v3.0\Operation_Apocalypse_v3.0 Which is why i said to make sure to check the path. And maybe my mistake that you have folder in folder. You probably should have rightclicked the zip file and choose unzip here instead of unzip to folder...I tried playing a couple of missions in easy mode but it ain't easy at all. It will be a good challenge to play these missions. Most of the maps are only available through chapter loading mode. Only some are available in mission mode. OA maps are not the average drive and conquer maps. On the contrary, the AI will make a serious attempt to win. As Bloodwork calls it: you will need to micromanage a lot.
Whenever you are stuck, you can pm me or ask in the OA topic. Good luck!
