-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- useful Tips for Players, Mappers and Modders ---------------------- Today: FOLDER CLEANING Im playing on High Resolution Textures only, (should be common today?) so many _c.dds and _l.dds files can become deleted. Ive tried out some Tools but i liked only RoboBasket3 with this you can define very precise what has to be done and how The Trialversion lets you work 14 days for free
cleaned out 117MB of the upcoming HF1945 Mod Release in 5-6 mins after i defined the Filters :-)

Good idea this thread!
Now you could also use the search function in the windows explorer. e.g. Search *.l.dds Then select all *l.dds and delete them.

its not about saving space on harddisk. In the next one ill explain why it is necessary for BK-Modding in some cases. edit: here i mean not only textures, its about all kind of different Filetypes

For the extinguishing of files of a certain Datatypes I have now created me a Windows script because Windows explorer repeatedly pissed me off today. I want the machine to execute big amounts of data stable without annoying me, i have better things to work on. Instructions:>Download< this little zip, unpack it and grab you this:
You can drop it into any Folder and when you doubleclick it the Terminal will open up.After the call of this file becomes after one to extinguish file type asked. Here you can give, e. g. , "url" (of course without quotation mark), in ourcase its *l.dds and *c.dds because i had to delete several gigabyte of themBecause there are many different of those all do end up with c or lwe need a * before the file endings.----------------------------------------------------------------------------You can use it easy and its not a hard job to find the right code for your needs when having a look onto the Lists on wikipedia containing all Commands:----------------------------------------------------------------------------german language:Batch BefehleStapelverarbeitung Allgemein-----------------------------------------------------------------------------english language:Batch FileBatch Processing-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Afterwards the script goes through the folder in which it lies and all other unterfolders and extinguishes all files with this file endingThere is no "deleted" confirmation, the Terminal will close itself when the Job is finished.Thats all. Works way faster and better than using windows explorer Included in the download is a pdf and the source code if someone likes to create his own Tool:)Regards!
