Hello all! Been working on some things again, among which objects. Sadly, there seems to be a problem with them. When I export them, the shadow doesn't work and units can walk over them instead of behind them (see picture below). I am sure I am simply forgetting a setting here or there, but I don't know which one or where. What can I do to fix this?

A) Without shadows and such they are going to look a little ropey. Tis all part of the illusion that makes 2d objects on a 3d background believably 3d I know, hence my question. I did make a shadow file (1s.tga) which the reseditor does select, but when I export it to a object, the ingame shadow is missing for some reason.

Make sure that in your 1s.tga the shadow is white color, rest being transparent.
When you save that file, you should normally be prompted to save as 24-bit or 32-bit with alpha. Obviously you would need to save as 32-bit with alpha.
I would advise to make one column and the grave in the middle as seperate buildings/objects. This way the units will appear behind the objects instead of on top of it.

Hi ritzkrieg . I think I can help you with my little experience is this topic. When you want you can contact me by PM. This is very easy to improve, I'll even help you make the images more attractive to the game. Do not worry about anything else. A greeting.

Constructive criticism is not calling other people work a "SH*T". One week ban for such an action should suffice, please carry on with a normal subject/topic.

Hey guys! Sorry for the long abscence, did work on stuff meanwhile, but not very often. I keep running into the aforementioned shadowproblem however. It only happens to me on objects, not on buildings or anything else. I have checked several things now, even using the 1s and xml files from existing vanilla objects on custom ones, but without success sadly. Does anybody have any suggestions where to go from here? EDIT: Solved. I always have this where I struggle with a problem for months, but when I ask others for help, I find the solution immediately after. Apparantly it was a typo in the modobjects.

Ritzkrieg presents: Ritzmod A journey of many years Or: the mod that is released many years too late-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Most of you know me as that guy that joined here as a teen, created average content and left without ever publishing a mod. The British Civil War mod comes to mind, among things. I felt that did not quite reflect me as a person, and since I still have a passion for this game, I came back to it and created this. The sad part is, I started this about a year ago when I also was active on the forum again, but because my computer gave up, I had to start a new. It took me some months, but here I am with a "finished" mod. Finished is written in marks here, because a mod is of course never really finished, but this one especially so. I'll explain below:
Mod theme: There is none. Its that easy. I simply started working on war theathers and periods that interested me most and created content according to need. Currently the theme of the mediterranean is obviously dominating the mod; this isn't strange since most of my interests are in that area. This is however the first version (or first part, I am not sure what I am going for with this thing). Future versions or parts may include completely different settings, who knows. I might take you to WW2 North Africa, the modern Middle-East or even to Gallipoli in World War 1. We will see what peaks my interest the most.
Mod content: This mod features many new objects, units and buildings. It also has a new UI that is for the most part finnished. Most of the content is made by me, but special credit goes out to Kaoz for allowing me to use his buildings and his layered files of buildings. Some of the content might be somewhat familiar to insiders, since I have used some content from my unreleased British Civil War mod. Sadly, I found that most buildings and objects weren't of the quality I had hoped and I had to exclude them from this release. I might redo them for a future version, though, depending if they fit in.
This first version comes with three maps; intitially I had planned to include four but sadly I got lazy and was afraid that if I postpone it, I might not release anything at all. So that last map will appear later and will include some of the units, buildings and objects that are included in this version but have not (or barely) been put to use. I know people like lists (I do too) so here a nice feature list:
- 35 new buildings - 6 new fences - 32 new objects, among which new flora - New terrain tiles - 15 new infantry squads - New units - 3 new maps - New UI - Gameplay tweaks
Mod maps: Finally, the mod maps. These are not 100% historically accurate! I have used the appropriate units and colourshemes if possible, looked at period buildings, but I have not recreated exact battles, landscapes or brigades. The maps are created arround a theme and are geared towards immersion and fun. This mod comes with three maps: Crete Airfield, Close Quarters and Iglesia. In Crete Airfield, you take control of the German forces invading Crete. This map was originally intended for British Civil War, but has been tweaked, changed and modernised for this mod (and have the setting changed completely, of course). The second map, Close Quarters, deals with an assault in the closing days of the Spanish Civil War and lets the player take command of the nationalist forces that have to conquer a town and hold off any counter offensives. The third map is Iglesia, which is also modified from the British Civil War mod. In this map, the player takes control of the Republican forces that have surrounded a Nationalist HQ on a hill, which they have to conquer. Download: www.dropbox.com/s/is3z5227c4a2u6d/Ritzmod.zip?dl=1Below are overview screenshots of the maps, though I noticed some became a bit... Weird. Think Half buildings and such. If you don't want any spoilers, obviously don't zoom in.

Thanks guys! Let me know if you had fun or run into any problems. I all ready found the first mistakes after release; there is a weird shadow with one of the sheds and I forgot to remove the voices of some units, because I always play the game muted. On to version 1.2, then.
