Thanks for the comment bb ! I see that balancing is still an issue with my maps. About few troops at start: did you have enough forces in the later parts of the map? I mean, the german forces at start are pretty weak too. The germans have only 1 at-gun at the bridge if i remember correctly lol I'd really like to hear how the counterattacks worked out. Especially the ones after you take the farm. Pathfinding mostly results from depot placement. I believe i placed a depot in every village? If you operate behind enemy lines without a depot supply is obviously more difficult. The thing about infantry is, that when i play SP, i almost never lose full squads. With reinforcements of infantry the player can easily get unholy amounts of infantry, but i guess this kind of abusing the game mechanics cant be avoided and i should just give more infantry. A more detailed report of how you played would be really helpfull i guess Stanenberg

Hi,
Well, I started attacking the bridge at right, it was a tough task and, as I said, I had several loses. The counter-attack started, you gave a good time to prepare the defenses, but the carts tourned everything in a big mess. The counter-attack was hard and I needed to reload one time. This time I lost my first truck because of the bad pathfinding.
I kept my troops on the left immobile, because they were too weak to start to moving and I didnt notice I could be reinfoced for that side. Anyway, to capture the farm on the top of the map I move my troops on the right to take a little village with one field depot just to improve my front situation. This was the worse operation on the entire mission, because I didnt have much infantry, my field depot was very far and the enemy heavy mortars produced a nightmare to me. In this attack I lost 2 or 3 trucks because the bad pathfinding: they usually moved in the AI terrain to get those depots on the top of the maps. I reloaded the map 2 or 3 times because this. Anyway, it was fun to attack that village for several times and ways until I finally captured it.
Once I made it I noticed the only way to take the farm was getting togheter all my troops at the same point so I finally moved my troops at the left to the right, crossed the bridge and prepared a strong spearhead to secure the farm. With the help of the captured mortars I easily took it.
And here is the problem with the 2nd counter-attack: I tried to cover my flanks blocking the only passable point between the left part and the right part of the map (north to the river). But the counter-attack appeared somewhere behind my positions and they moved in the direction to the bridge, to the player start point, where I just received some BT-7s. A direct attack probably would result in big loses because the BT-7s weren't strong enough to face the Pz-IIIs. And, actually this was very fun, once the German infantry stayed behind and separated from the enemy tanks, I used the BT-7s speed to escape the enemy tanks, eliminate the laged infantry and finally could easily kill all German tanks. The other (2) objectives were more a question to manouver (a lot) my units and attack it for both sides. This was why I took so many time to finish the map, but it was fun.
In conclusion, I think the counter-attack mechanics was ok, just at the brige it was a little strong and also your attempt to try to divine the player flanks wasn't very sucessfull, stil, as I said, was fun to fool your tanks, LOL. And also I wouldnt say balancement was a problem, I really like the way you use reinforcements and so on, but, as a suggestion, you could try to make some experiments using more infantry, etc.

Wow thanks for the feedback! I agree its very though when you dont attack in the left. That gives you 4 or 5 tanks and i think 4 more squads infantry and another infantry refresh truck.
The bridge part wasnt intended to be that hard. When i test played it, my T34 just carried the entire fight and i didnt lose that much.
The flanking attack worked exactly as it should have been. I wanted the AI to attack the players flank and rear to create a confusing and fun situation. Your strategy using the BTs sounds quite cool! I will try to give more infantry to the player and try to place my depots a bit smarter, making the maps less static.
Thanks a lot for the playing report! Really motivates me to work on more maps.

Great looking maps. But be aware of subliminal advertising on the part of Stanenberg. After playing the last map you might find a sudden need to play MK instead of GZM.

I am wondering how Stanenberg made screenshots like that. I would like it to show some overview of my maps too

Hey everyone,
the maps are basically done (map & script) but I need someone to test them. Unfortunately, Map Nr. 3 was lost when I updated the Maps to GZM 9.0.
If any GZM enthusiasts are willing to test the maps, please send me a PM or answer on this thread.

Did you find any candidate? Regards, BB

The project is stuck, because I still didnt find a tester. How come you out of all people dont have GZM 9.0? It has a bunch of new maps and our favourite russians updated all older maps, so you can play them without getting eye cancer
