I want to change the background of the main menu. How can I do that? Thanks for all your help! I am working hard to make the maps finish for the first 2 chapters.

file in dds format to edit should be in /intermission .. or somethign similar, anyway not hard to search. dds files you can edit with GIMP (freeware) adding DDS plug-in

Seems the alpha channel of the dds file got lost... make sure it remains there when you edit and export DXT5 ARGB 8bbp interpolated alpha.

When you load a back-mainmenu_h.dds into photoshop or gimp, it contains an alpha channel which is used for transparency or in this case shades of black for the menu (half transparent or so). When you save the file after editing, as a dds file, you should have the nvidea plugin I hope, and save in DXT5 ARGB 8bbp interpolated alpha format. So the alpha/transparency channel remains.
