Is there any log files to locate the problem, because every time the game crashes, it cannot be traced, which is very distressing..... Any good suggestions?
even though the map editor open it without no error, but it still crash in game play 。
It happened instantly or in a while very randomly even I stop all units action in the map it also happened。
I have a suspect when something(unit? or some object)been activated and because of those objects has some error the game will crash。 For example in Mat’s HF45 mod some artilleries could not be towed it also happened in HF mod, when the towing animation is about to end the game will crash, that mean some wrong with it。 An other one,One of my map always crash, but when I delete the opel engineer truck it sovled, because I transform the map from other mod, the map include a vailla opel engineer truck, but HF45 mod dont have vailla opel engineer truck in its mapeditor, even though it have no error in mapeditor and it also worked in game but 60 mins later game crashed when I try to use it to bulid a bridge.(But I am still not sure that this is the reason) I also found it also happened when the aviation is not set up properly, when I copied party of <aviation> code from a workable HF45 map xml to my instant crash map, instant game crash error solved immediately.
I try stanenberg’ Balaton Lake map of HF45 it crashed at a specific map area, after 20+ try it I passed it finally with no crash. So why It is not crashed after 20+. I guess some objects with some error been activated and it crashed,But when I destroyed it before it being activated the crash will not happen.

there is a tab in Map Editor called Check Blitzkrieg Map for errors and is the only one as far as I am aware.
Hope this helps.

Is it the game crashing or the MapEditor?
The MapEditor will crash if you have placed units/objects in that map and later on, one of these units/objects would be missing. Also renaming units/objects can lead to this.
If you have saved the map in xml format as well, you could repair the map, only if you know what unit/object is causing the crash and remove it from the xml. In bzm format, you cannot do this and fixing your map will become a lot harder.
So make a habit of saving a backup of your map in xml format once in a while. To locate the cause: try loading your map in the editor with the option 'no any mod'. If that loads well, the problem will be somewhere in the mod.
I hope this is not your Berlin map...?

If a crash is during gameplay then it is either script related or has something to do with aircraft.
To rule out aircraft, check if the aircraft you selected in map are avialable in the mod (AI ). If you have no script then after x seconds/minutes the AI will send out a scout. If this unit is incorrect then the game will crash.
If script related then you should look if you can link the timing of crash to something in the script. For instance, is at the time a reinforcement should come.

If a crash is during gameplay then it is either script related or has something to do with aircraft. Not necessarily. I had a map (Villiers-Bocage) which, even with all the script and aircraft removed, if I moved any unit passed a certain point on the map, the game crashed. Never found out why, just had to bin it and replace it. I have one particular map patch (airfield_n) that I can open, i've previously edited it, but it just won't save. I can remove all the objects/units, all the roads etc. Completely blank map. Still crashes the map editor when I try and save it.
LaPlata also managed to somehow encode some of their maps from Rolling Thunder so if you edit them, or even just open them in the map editor and save them, no changes made, they will crash when played, either straight away or at some point in gameplay. I presume this was to stop people converting them to other mods as they did with Burning Horizons.
So, sometimes, maps just break. I don't know why. Dodgy conversion process, something in the map editor. Deliberate copy protection from developers in some cases. Who knows.

You are right, this can perfectly explain why the map crashed in about 30 seconds.

I think the problem I encountered is exactly the same as what you said, a crash without any explanation.I think I will not struggling with the crash。

Hello, in the original RT game they used StarForce and also encoded some .pak files but strange that this also happens with the DRM free anthology version=?

Also "The MapEditor will crash if you have placed units/objects in that map and later on, one of these units/objects would be missing. Also renaming units/objects can lead to this. If you have saved the map in xml format as well, you could repair the map, only if you know what unit/object is causing the crash and remove it from the xml. In bzm format, you cannot do this and fixing your map will become a lot harder. " You can actually fix this situation as well, in two ways. The best way is to create a "Map Loading Tool". This is simply a blank mod. Then use this "mod" to load the map, and the map editor will automatically remove any faulty object, river, road etc entries and put the names of what it removed in a log file. Then what you can do is add those entries to your real modobjects or objects XML (don't save the map at this stage, as objects have been removed), then close the map editor, reload the map with the new entries in the modobjects/objects, and it should load the map. The other way of doing it is to open the BZM file in say, Notepad++. BZMs are just XMLs but compressed, and the names of unit/object entries are still visible. You can edit them, as long as you don't alter the length of each string. This is risky though. Hello, in the original RT game they used StarForce and also encoded some .pak files but strange that this also happens with the DRM free anthology version=? It still does. I have been utterly unable to successfully convert RT missions. BH, no problem. RT, some work fine, others will crash for no reason at all the moment you try and load them in game once edited. I can't figure it out.

I also had a case in the past, where a custom unit with a custom skin made the game crash from the moment the particular custom unit came in sight while scrolling the battlefield. This is of course not easy to detect, it took me months to realize it was that particular unit responsible. I only found out by removing certain units and lot of testing. Problem was in the resolution of the dds skin file. Once i had saved it again with different resolution, it didn't crash anymore. This issue is very rare and it only happened to me once, but it is a possibility.
I have to think deep which unit it concerned, but if i remember correct, it was a USSR KV85 heavy tank.

Does this only occur in the mod and with this particular unit combination?
