Desert War by Altheogre The Americans have landed on the North African coast and are attempting to push inland. Resist the American attacks and mount a counter offensive. Your ultimate aim is to capture the port.
There are American long distance armored patrols operating in the area, so you can expect raids on your headquarters at any time. If your headquarters are captured you will lose.
It would be a good idea to capture any enemy units you can and fortify field depots as you proceed towards the coast to counter these American armored patrols.
You will not have access to air support for the first part of ther mission.www.panzer-blitz.com/blitzkrieg-maps/35-bksinglepalyermaps/270-desert-war

RT crashes as soon as I put either mission into the data folder... what is the reason? I've never seen such a thing....

I must apologise profusely for not having thoroughly checked the install of the pak before posting. Following on from a comment from Ocelo, I did a clean install of RT on another PC and the game did crash when the pak was run. I have figured out the problem. I left a non standard tank on the map - now removed and of course, I should have added a modobjects.xml for the 2 African buildings added to the pak. It now installs and runs OK on plain RT. I think the other pak (winter retreat) may have a similar problem. I have to load Heimatfront to a fresh install of RT and have a look at that as well, but can’t do that until this evening. I have sent a corrected desert war.pak to Aleks and hope he will be kind enough to replace the download. Sorry to everyone who has had the same issue, I am so embarassed.

I've just had a look at Winter Retreat and cannot find any problems. I loaded RT from scratch then the Heimatfront mod (heimatfront.exe 85,999kb) then the Heimatfront front patch (Heimatfront_patch_1.02.pak 49,620kb), extracted winter retreat.pak to Blitzkrieg Rolling Thunder/run/data and the mission ran OK in the game. Has anyone else had any problems with Winter Retreat? I hope they will now both run for you Ocelo and thanks for letting me know about Desert War.
