AvellinoSeptember 28th, 1943. The U.S. 5th Army has finally broken out of the Salerno bridgehead and is headed for the important port of Naples. In the way is the riverside town of Avellino and the hilltop village of Sant'Angelo Infante. The German rearguard is expected to be found in force here.

Here is something that's been hanging around in my files for about a year-and-a-half. My take on Villers-Bocage. It has not been fully tested yet, but I just want to get it out there, before it gets lost for another year-and-a-half.
If you do find anything wrong with it, please let me know. If you like it, please let me know.
Note: It does not have a Modobjects.xml file, but it does have a units folder included that changes the US 75mm AT gun into a British 17-pdr, so don't leave it hanging around in your Run\data folder if you are going to run a late-war US mission.

I have two chapters that I can release, if only I can get the missions to work together as a chapter. Who can help me with this? Where is our chapter expert? BB?

Charleroi another old map I have rescued from the electronic junk heap. I was inspired by tgd's Japanese horse-drawn vehicles, so I created an infantry battalion attack mostly supported by horse-drawn vehicles. I taught them how to speak German and set them up as full cargo and hospital vehicles.

bb, I have the chapter tutorial, I just have trouble following it. Besides, apparently over half my troubles are Vista. After you copy something more than about 20 times - which you do while taking the errors out of a chapter - it decides you are a virus and it won't let you copy that any more. It sucks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the chapter tutorial very carefully. The problem is that the Resource Editor has several bugs in it. For example it exports to a completely ridiculous directory. I can correct this, but then Vista steps in and aborts Blitzkrieg or won't allow me to copy files. No matter what I do, I can't get a chapter to work. In fact, thanks to Vista, the only thing I can do is create single missions, and I have to do that in a strange, back-handed way.

The maps themselves are very nice. I also liked the Charleroi map, as it gave a good experience of a pure infantry assault, particularly from the German perspective (we often forget that infantry-infantry combat occured very regularly in WWII), and I like that there were no armored units thrown in at some point. I would suggest that future similar maps have a greater complexity, ie: encirclements, sieges, maneuvers, etc. The other maps could definetly use some more intensive action, which could easily be achieved by beefing up both the unit count as well as varying up the advantages of the two sides. Edit: Avellino was a beautiful, wonderful, and inspiring map.

And now, my first public release of a chapter. Just a short 3-mission chapter of my interpretation of an actual series of events that took place on D-Day, June 6, 1944. It concerns a temporary formation named the 158th Brigade Group.
Part of the point of the chapter is to highlight some of the beautiful (if you can say that about army trucks) vehicles brought out by Major Pain.

Louis
It seems to be missing the Chapter folder and mission #2 & #3 folders and maps. I checked it against the beta version and the modobjects.xml is also missing.
