If you are trying to run a map using the "Run Blitzkrieg" option and the map is not in the Blitzkrieg\Run\data\maps folder, you will get that "white spaces in map name" error. It has nothing to do with any spaces in the name of your map.
Of course, if there are spaces in the name of your map....

Then you need the updated map editor. I have a version, but I'm not sure if it's the right one. Does anyone else have it for him?

If you have the Anthology then you should have the latest version of the MapEd. Look in your Blitzkrieg]Run folder and see if your mapeditor.exe is 3,988 KB in size. If it is, I believe that is the updated version.

Windows what 32-bit? If you have Windows Vista 32-bit (same as I do) then you have problems. Can you get on-line? If you can get Service Pack 2 then it seems to take care of a lot of the problems.

Check the path of the file again.
That was my mistake when I started mapping. Wrong place in the wrong time.

...all my games run from my documents instead of progam files. Do you mean to say you have Blitzkrieg installed in the My Documents folder instead of the Program Files folder? If so, that might be your problem. The coordination between the MapEd and BK is very touchy. I think if it is not installed exactly where it expects to be installed - C:\Program Files\Nival Interactive - then you will have problems. You might consider installing a second version and let it install exactly in the default location. Or you might uninstall your present version and reinstall in the proper location.
I'm not sure this is your problem, but I know I had a similar problem when I tried to install BK in a different location.
I hope this helps. We're trying to help as best we can.

Problem: Windows Explorer under vista will not recognize .bzm or .lua files, although your MapEd and SciTE Ed will find them. Not only that, but when you go to put together a .pak file of the mission you've made - using W/E, of course - it will not include the .bzm and .lua files in the compile, because according to it they don't exist.
Solution: The simple solution is to get a USB memory stick or similar form of external memory. If you move your .bzm and .lua files there using MapEd and SciTE Ed, all of a sudden W/E will recognize them and compile them into your mission.
