Firstly, here is the download link to the campaign below. I thank Aleksej for hosting it. www.panzer-blitz.com/blitzkrieg-maps/51-blitzkrieg-custom-campaigns/136-great-patriotic-war-custom-campaign NOTE: Version 1.3 patch highly reccomended and can be found here: www.mediafire.com/?if4gzqyzztoPlease post your comments and responces on the project below. Secondly, I'm planning to issue a re-release of the project (GPW2), aimed at enhancing the campaign for those who did not already play/finish it. I'd like to discuss what changes people feel should be made to the campaign. More importantly, I'd very much like to know which missions that people have played need enhancement the most/of what type. I have already considered Brazilian Blitzer's comments on the Stalingrad chapter. Here are the current planned changes: *Increased infantry HP. This makes the infantry, so commonly used in the campaign, much more meaningful on the battlefield (HPs generally increased by 50%). Already present on the GPW en Espanol version.
*Some reworking of the Stalingrad Chapter to decrease difficulty. Again, increased infantry HPs should help.
*In later offensive missions (ie: Liberation of Belgorod), I think I will opt for a decreased concentration and quality of enemy units for some timers on some objectives (ie: 2 hors to liberate Belgorod). BTW, I need some advice as to how to add scripted timers on objectives.
*In smaller missions, difficulty and terrain maneuvorability will be increased.
*Some larger buildings will recieved increased HPs.
*A compilation of my single missions, both added to the campaign, a German Chapter, and some single missions optimized to take advantage of the custom files will be included.
*New background
*Increased damage and ranges of light mortars.
*A few new units (regimental 76mm gun and Maxim MG) will be added.
*Optional upgrade for player to the T-34/57 with 57mmAT gun

its a really realistic campaign but it should be balanced. I can remember a battle where you have to pull back on a other side of a river with an force what holded the hill but you must take evryone with you and blow op the bridge. i never finished to blow it up because i didnt had enineers i needed for it as the description said.

Thanks for the tip. Did you loose your engineers in the battle? The were next to the bridge at startup. Also, since you got that far, how was the previous mission? any troubles?

Hi Ocelo,
Here is my personal modifications to this mod, so we can discuss about a new version.
* Changed GPW`s regimental gun by Stalingrad`s one: more beatifull and more accurate.
* Changed light mortars range. Better on offensive missions
* KV-1 as core units since the first mission on russian border. important cause the missions until moscow chapter are extremly hard.
* no more maps without auto-resupply. for obvious reason
* changed the german T-34/76 by a PzIII. quite odd the germans have T-34s before the russians!
* changed the ss squads by the PZWF more beatifull and without panzerschrecks (this is important cause these squads appear on the first missions).
* Changed the indestructible SDKFZ 251/22 by a SDKFZ 250/1. fo obvious reason.
*Flame tanks since the first mission on stalingrad.
I also would exclude some of the bad missions of GPW or, at least, change for new missions. And I wouldn`t inclued your single map missions cause, IMO, they aren`t good enough, most are too little maps whit very little options to encircle or manouver to avoid frontal attacks.
I`m playing for the second time GPW and I believe the quality of the missions are very variable, with some changes it coul be transformed in a campaign so good as MC and MTB.

Hey, I'll check out those pointers once I get to work on this (probably in a month or 2; need to finish the NA mod first). As for specific maps: send me an email on the subject.

Update: New maps will be added to the campaign, especially to the Border, Kiev, and Moscow chapters (all 1941). A couple of maps will be added to the later part of the campaign as well. I have heavily tweaked with the Divisional F-22 and Zis-3 guns. Now, they are quite lethal at a significant range (though obviously- not to heavier armor which they can't penetrate). Overall, the modifications will focus on shifting the balance of power from the tanks as in the tradittional BK, to artillery and infantry. Though tanks will still be very useful and perhaps most importaint, infantry and artillery support will be a key part of victory as well, especially on defensive missions. Greatly increased aircraft HPs will make these costly units valable and effective as well. An open request to anyone with good modding knowledge: I need the vehicle death effects and the weapon sounds and explosion sounds extracted into one PAK compatible with regular BK. Many thanks in advance to anyone whilling to help out.

generalthegreat: I am not sure what you are talking about. I used te regular BK T-34 mod.42 skin for the OT-34 so the player could easily distinguish between it and the regular T-34 mod.42, as their appearances are idntical.
