So, I recently upgraded to Windows 7, and everything works fine on the map editor, except the fields editor. It will not allow me to make new fields, no matter what I do. I realize that not a lot of info on the problem, but I was just wondering if anyone had any experience trying to map on Win7.

This is not Windows 7 advice, but just general Making New Fields advice:
I find difficulty in making new fields under any O/S if the new field isn't there. What I do is go into my uncompiled version of the data.pak using a file/folder manipulator such as Windows Explorer, copy a field from the fieldsets/{season} folder to a temporary location, rename it to a field number that hasn't been used yet in that season, then copy it back. Now that a new field exists, I find no problems about changing its content.
Perhaps following this little procedure will get around your Win7 problem.
Alternately, move the area you want to work with to an off-computer drive - even a USB memory stick will do, but an external hard drive is better - and work on it there. The Win7 security restrictions don't all kick in when you are working outside the shell of the computer, it seems. Or at least as far as Vista is concerned, and I understand Win7 may have the same problems in that area.
Just don't copy it back too frequently or too often, or it may be classified as an external virus source.
Thank you, Microsoft! Thank you for taking my time and money and demanding more! I have so much of both, I won't miss them.

Thank you, good sir. Extracting the fieldset from the data.pak fixed it and even allowed me to make new ones.

Good to hear. It may be the old fashioned, manual way, but it works.
