Ok, I'm getting serious about my first map. One of the parameters is to have the heights and general terrain as close to the actual battlefield as possible (I'm not talking about having each bush and trash can in their actual positions). Does anyone know how to merge a topographical map into the map editor heights generator? Steel panthers has a tutorial using MicroDEM, Borland Database Engine, WW2Maps, Google Earth and a few kitchen sinks. Could this be made to work for BK? The website is: www.alternatewars.com/steelpanthers/index.php?title=Map_Designing_using_WW2Map_and_MicroDEM

I think you should ask danzig70. He is doing a big and very good work on maps.

MicroDEM looks like an interesting tool. You might be able to create a program that builds an xml file in the BK format by reading a source file. But it is likely it would still have to be done by hand.
For every step forward I had on my project, there was at least one step back.
