This topic got me thinking about the actual colors used on AFV's in WWII. I knew that the color chart posted by fritzlang was way off, so I went in the garage attic and dug out an RAL referenced color chip catalog (from Dunn Edwards- a local paint manufacturer here) that has actual paint swatches instead of press-printed swatches which can be off. After looking up gelb braun (RAL 8020) and dunkelgelb (RAL 7028) I discovered that gelb braun is much lighter than dunkelgelb. From my game modding work and going back to my modelling days I had always thought that dunkelgelb was lighter than gelb braun but after checking it appears that gelb braun is actually the lighter of the two. I don't currently have a scanner to post the chip colors, so I searched a bit and found some color samples whose on screen colors match the color chips I have. Here is Wehrmacht "gelb braun", RAL #8020: And this is "dunkelgelb" RAL #7028 These color swatches match the commercial color swatches that I have pretty darned good. Seeing as how the official color scheme of DAK vehicles was that of having RAL 8020 as a base coat, my guess would be that GREIF was indeed painted this rather than 7028 , seeing how the base color is really, really, light. The sprayed camo pattern is graugrun or something really close. P.S.> Coincidentally I had mixed up some paint from several random gallons that I had ($5/gallon goofs from Home Depot)to temporarily paint some areas of our house during remodeling, and it is a dead on match for RAL 8020!

IMO, You did a fantastic job Fritz, Please keep it up! Regards! I actually agree that these skins are great looking. They are not however historically accurate. This was the point I was making. When fritz posted a picture of GREIF that clearly shows spray camo in spite of being overexposed and obscured with dust and said "see, no camo" I had to point out that this was simply not the case. There are many dozens of photos of GREIF and every single one of them I have been able to find shows the exact same light base color with dark sprayed camo paint scheme.

Wow....She's a bute!! Nah, this is a beute !! Speaking of which, has a good one of these been made? The skin does look good frits, although the actual GREIF was factory dunkelgelb with sprayed green camo. you mean this?

I thought I saw a correct Dorchester at some point MP. A "Battle of Mechili" scenario where Rommel captured a couple of these would be interesting. The list of WWII units that has not been modeled for BK is getting pretty small thanks to the skill and dedication of yourself and others like HB and Mazka. I know that importing models made for other platforms into BK is nearly impossible, but is it possible to export them for use in other games/platforms? The 3Dunit/2d terrain objects with fixed camera of the BK engine is getting pretty antiquated although still functional and fun to play. I have always liked the engine used for "Desert Rats vs Afrika Korps" and think that would be ideal for an updated top-down RTS (although it is from the same era as BK) as it already includes most of the wish list of features that everybody in BK dreams of.

Not appointed to take his message of Major topic. But here's an updated skin of his Bristol_Blenheim MkIV GB. What it fixes - darkened cabin windows and gun cupolas. Delivered transparency to all glasses 15 percent. Shaded areas of skin missing. Added dead skin.
The model is great for the quality! Get well Mayor and gladden us with their new models!
