Don't even know where and how to start it, this story is long and already sounds boring. Well, will start it straight ahead without beating around the bush.
GZM mod was banned from BKP forums back in years because it consisted of copyrighted material. Ver. 5.5 had units from Active Gaming, Intex etc. taken without permission and could make a hard day to Lee a.k.a. [BKP]. However, after that I believe Alex learned his lesson. Right now (as I've spent a lot of time checking out info and screenshots for the version 7.0) GZM mod is free of illegal/copyrighted units. If there still are some problems with it those are small objections that could be addressed, nothing too big and mod can pass through. That's why it is allowed here to post info, screenshots etc. Without links. That part of avoiding links is something completely different from this story (have my own, personal reasons).
However somewhere in the between GZM 5.0 and 7.0 we've gone wrong. All of us. I will tell you why.
First we have started fighting each other. East VS West. In the XXI century fighting like being in Cold War is completely idiotic, from both sides. And both sides were insulted. That caused some work being "not allowed to use" in GZM 7.0. I've tried to search for any copyright issues concerning this.
If you make a map, building, unit, road, object for free use and release it in the free domain there is nothing you can do to stop people using it in the free mods, non-commercial ones. They are not making any profit of it, practically they are using it for free-to-access work for the community. If you make something commercial and then some knuckle-head use that even for free and non-commercial mods then you can react: remember that publishers NEVER make games, they are just publishing them. That means a lot of money is paid for. Sometimes it's the same with game developers, they are PAYING money to the freelancers for their work (models, maps, objects) and taking their work without permission and releasing it in the free world has it's name: piracy and copyright law break.
However largest issue here is when someone creates his work for free and wants to limit it's use to certain user groups. Legally there is nothing you can do to limit access unless you create EULA (End user license agreement) stating what kind of usage your work is allowed to.
It's completely another thing that people sometimes use other people's work without crediting them. basically you don't break any law except one old and now rusty rule: being polite and playing as a gentleman. You should always credit the people for their hard work and therefore giving them regards for it. Otherwise people are offended and you end up being real dipstick and road thief.
As far as I can see right now we have two options: either we will stay in our trenches, each one in his own (and me with the other Serbian members here being in the crossfire, in the middle - the worst place, thank you very much!) or we will make some kind of deal, agreement for further work. I am thinking of agreement that will be used in further issues. This is my thought:
you people choose two or three good ranking and respected members with cool heads and good reputations. they can serve as some kind of inter-line between two sides, practically like a court of honor and will be able to solve the issues. If you want I will make separate topic for it where you can propose such persons and people would vote for them. Remember voting for them would then give them power to be arbitrary between two sides and they would have to check all allegations. If you agree with this then we would have at least more peace and clear accounts for any further deals. If one side think that they did bad job it would have free hands to address to the public and start public debate over it. Simple and effective.
For the troll thing: I want to ask all sides to stop insulting each other - common, you are not kids anymore. "Fight" with arguments, not with insults. Be polite to each other.
Topic is unlocked and we will see now what you people think.

I fully support Aleksej last post
now back to subject: its really truth that GZM 7.0 could get out in month or two? (sometimes translators can have big problems)
I only hope that new GZM will have auto installer and that we dont going to have so much installation problems like with 5.55 version

Truly '90ties-begin-of-21st-century style: no wargame without peacekeepers... ;D ;D No offence intended, Alex, just kidding

Few tips:
-If someone want's to see how popular his work is, upload it on SendSpace. There you can see the number of downloads.
-If you want to limit the access to your work, don't post a download link here. Post your email.
-If you see any illegal problems here, try contacting the guys with coloured names first (Red, Green, Orange or Blue)
-If you see something wrong happening on Chinese, German, Russian, Spanish... forum... Well, it's not our business.
That's all. Thank you.

As always. But, if someone doesn't ask, he's just being impolite. Nothing else...

I just want to mention this as it pertains directly to the discussion at the moment: I am right now finishing up with the NA mod. Its 350MB unpacked, with works of several dozen authors. I will credit them to 100% of my ability upon release. However, I am making this mod pretty much alone. I have very limited time, and cannot track down every contributing author's contact and determine the work I am using (very often I do not know). I am really greateful t the authors for making the content, but am unfortunately unable to contact them individually. I do not want to beimpolite, but I must make the relase of the mod my top BK priority.

Not likely for the initial release (amount of things to translate is huge). Later - maybe, if someone makes all that work.

I heard each campaign will take app. 1 month to complete... ...so a lot of translating; even for Google.
