GZM-7: Read it First and FAQ

OK, I've been getting a lot of questions and comments about this mod, so here is a page which I'd like to be used for reference and questions.

Yes, I do work with the mod, but I haven't by any means created most of its content; in fact, most of it I am unfamiliar with in the way of problem solving. I can give you general tips, but I cannot say why some map is bugging at a certain place; all I can say is whether I encountered it or not.

Direct them to the real makers, ask them questions. If you sign up under a familiar name, I'll do my best to make sure your problem is addressed. I can help with translating a question/problem, but I myself am not a telephone; I am alone.

Disclaimer: I pinky-promise you will not be bashed, criticized, or thrown in jail for visiting SouyzUnion. It is a great place with lots of very friendly and talented people, most of whom enjoy making others feel happy by providing them with more ground-breaking content for the game they love. Be nice and so will others. We may be different, but we're still human, and for the most part very talented and quite intelligent people at that.

I do believe however that if you don't have the motivation to register at a friendly BK community and ask your question about a mod you are interested in, you will neither resolve the issue, nor are you really interested in the mod or the game all that much in the first place. SO give it a go. At worst, you'll loose a few hours; at best, you'll enjoy what is IMyHO the best mod for the best WWII game out there for many months, and likely years, to come.



You should address general questions to the authors of various projects there as well; use either the English forum or the specific topics. I'll check the English one as often as I can to help out with translating if that's an issue.

I believe much-needed efforts are underway to move GZM-7 to an English site, we'll see what comes about. I know of Mediafire, which allows unlimited downloads, but the size limit is 200MB per file, given that the modd is >3GB, that'd be 15 files, maybe its OK...

Has anybody been able to install this mod using the mediafire download links - I am asking because I have downloaded the whole thing and when I attempt to install I get an error that some of the cab files are corrupted. So I downloaded the whole thing again - same error.

Does anybody have some advice?

Sorry, doubt I can help much. Check the file sizes though; all bu the last one are typically very similar in size for these kinds of things (ie: when a large file(s) is split into multiple archives).

Normally you'll must to have for GZM 7.0 :

17 files (200Mb) and 1 (49,92Mb)

and for patch 7.50 :

3 files (200Mb) and 1 (74,15Mb)

and the 7.50.1 file (349,8Kb)

Yes, everything seems to be like that, but still cannot install - get the same error

Well ill be..! It takes 6 hours to download the GZM7 RAR file..
Is this really the case here?

So how is the installation made? Do i ghange every rar file into PAK and put in the mod data folder or what? Does it really have to be a clean BK 1.2 with no other mods installed?

I can't answer the first part of your question since I used a torrent file but the second is yes. GZM has very big changes so introducing mod could be dangerous. However, I think that sound mods and skins don't interfere.
