Since the number of maps downloads droped a lot since the end of the old portal and the feedback about maps is almost nule, I think is time to ask if I'm the only person here who plays blitzkrieg almost every day?

I'm busy with BK every day. Creating stuff, but playing a bit less, When my pc is running smoothly, hopefully in a week, I will play this game again very often.

Sadly no time to play every day... I play three/four times a week and other BK related activities (mainly keeping BK Italia and translations) take their toll.

I play Bk multiplayer almost every night. Yes, I forgot to give the multiplayer option. It seems most of action today is in the multi community.

Hopefully on weekends once I get my computer running. I just got my new machine up and running this week : Phenom II 3.2Ghz Black Edition :-) Biostar 870U3 Motherboard 4 Gig 2000mhz OC GSkill Ripjaws memory HIS Radeon 4670 1 Gig Dual slot GPU Kingston 30 Gig SSD OS / Game drive W/2 32 Gig USB Flash "Drives' for Game CD ISOs- etc. (NO hot, vibrating HD at all..) OCZ 500 Watt Modular PSU Fresh Non-OEM install of XP pro, dual boot option with fresh install of non-OEM Win7 Ultimate (yet to really be used) All tucked into a nice (used but in like new condition) Coolermaster Praetorian all- Aluminum tower with the Aerogate fan&temperature sensors unit. Been playing a few Multiplayer games of BK on the new rig- awesome fluid graphics. Mostly been checking out the many game demos I have downloaded in the past couple of years that my old boat anchor (2.7 Compaq POS) would not run. I think I am hooked on Theatre of War. Incredible graphics and projectile physics/ line of site system. The maps and firing ranges are true scale. I think I am going to order full version of this. WAY better than Men of War IMO, and the pricetag is $20, compared to the $80 for MOW. BK still is a fun game, but for all of the work put into it, there is a diminishing yield for the effort IMO.

Nice system. I picked up the intel i7 960 processor and am getting the DX58SO2 LGA 1366 X58 ATX motherboard, hopefully. Seems its out of stock now.

Thanks, I am real happy with it. I bought the Praetorian case a couple weeks ago for $25 and got the bug to fill it up with some new hardware after installing my POS Compaq gear in it. The case actually came with an ASUS P4C800 board P4 Dualcore that I was unable to get to operate with my Compaq Windows. I was later able to get it to function with a new non-OEM XP version ($35 on CL). Had I gotten that board working initially I would not have bought the new rig, but the order was on its way at that point. I first wanted to go with an Intel system similar to what you are talking about, but the $ is about 2x what you can build an AMD with similar performance, so I went the frugal route. (my Biostar full ATX was $64 and the AMD 555BE was $87, and the boars is not barebones- it has all SATA 3 (I have no IDE ribbons in the case at all)and has USB 3 as wel.l I have one IDE cd drive, with an adapter and it works great. Thus far I am tickled pink- I am running Theatre of War right now and seeing less than 25% CPU usage, and this is with regular Clock speed (I have had this thing zooming at well over 4 Ghz) AND I have Hyperthreading off as well! Turning off the Hyperthreading fixes the BK problems with multi-cores.The CPU/Bios controls are great with this board- makes everything easy to change. The Solid State Drive kicks butt! My new XP without all the Compaq bloatware (6gigs) is only 1.7 gigs, and I have several games - etc on it. The startup time with an SSD is AMAZING. My old Compaq sounded like a sawmill and wizzed an whirred for about 5 minutes before you could do anything, and even then hourglasses would continue to pop up for anither 5 minutes or so. With the SSD, the Motherboard POSTs and around 5 seconds later the Windows login sounds and the desktop appears and it is ready to go.The only thing spinning are the fans- which I have all idled down, with heat sensors to kick them up when needed. The unit is basically silent. The SSD ust have saved me hours loading all the fesh installs on this thing and restarting over and over. Good luck with the new build.

BK still is a fun game, but for all of the work put into it, there is a diminishing yield for the effort IMO. Even not enjoyng marginalist reasoning, I can agree (in part) with you: is not anymore as in the good old days when my heart beated just to seeing a new chapter by manhunter in the old portal. However, today we have a great number of new units, also we have GZM, a new level in BK experience, IMO is possible to make this game better improving the scripts and the maps. And I believe most of the survivors, or at least the four guys who play almost every day as myself, are not "gamers" but "blitzers", people who enjoy so much this game who, perhaps, never will find a new game as substitute. For those four insane guys I'll keep making maps. ;D

Well I guess I didnt need to save all those IDE cables then. I just ordered the mobo and have the gpu picked out. I have never had a real nice system before so I went the intel route. Once built I will probably leave it alone for quite a while.
I hope to have things running by the end of the summer so keep making maps!

Well I am a bit challenged at the moment. The other game team sent me an unintentional bug a while back. I have been in a constant rescue mission since.
My three hard drives all had their own OS (XP Pro), one was #3 at 64 bits. I also have a external backup that has its own OS. The bug took out everything. It even took out the mother board.
So for the moment I can't do squat until the new board arrives. I lost about 4 days of MAYA/BK work but I still have Source Files to rebuild from. I lost about a week of work on the other project.
The software group lost all of their primary source files so we're scrambling to put them all back together from the programmers source files. What a huge mess. So in a single day, around 30 systems and two servers were basically.... destroyed.
The good news is 99% of my work and source files are on my backup to my backup drive. It wasn't connected at that moment.
I expect about another week before I am back to work.
And to answer the question. I played BK almost everyday as I had time. I am having massive withdrawal now. So you guys better write some good stuff in the meantime. I'm building models as fast as I can... so the least you guys can do is use them in your missions.
And by the way, I appreciate the work Louis has done on my behalf promoting my work... it has not been overlooked and is appreciated.
So while I am in a cranky mood (due to the BK withdrawal)... anyone want to suggest my next model project?

I think I've caught a bug. More an annoyance thing than destructive. However, it's playing hob with my anti-virus and stops me from doing things from time to time.
Unfortunately, my latest backups are useless. If I wipe and reset the O/S, I'm going to lose a lot of stuff.
If I wipe and reset the O/S, I'm going back to XP, at least on my D drive.

XP is a hell of a lot more stable than anything else out there, unless you use OS2, but then you have some limitations.
