yersinia provide us map makers with large maps. In this thread I want to exchange the experience with making a workable map. I'm working on a map with size 17x60 map. Operation Deadstick the capture intact of two road bridges in Normandy across the River Orne and the Caen Canal. The first thing I notice with the map is that placed units or buildings can't be moved on the map. You can only place them or delete them. This makes hooking up guns to trucks difficult but not impossible. Put a truck close to gun and go form truck to gun and you do get white arrow. Moving roads or rivers on the map go's without problem. The same with trenches. Placing them on the map or deleting them can be done without problem. A first screenshot. As can be seen still a lot to do. But so far so good.

The first major problem. Placing AI-infantry on the map.
You can without trouble place player infantry on the map. The same go's for AI. However, you can't get the player or AI-soldiers inside, truck, trench or building.
However, AI-soldiers that are place simply on the map wouldn't show up in the game. Neither do AI-infantry inside trucks.
You can however get AI-infantry on the map. Inside building and trenches they do show up in the game.
With this script you can get infantry of the enemy on the map.
Cmd(7,1091,468,59617); (order infantry 1091 to leave the building) QCmd(0,1091,GetScriptAreaParams("point")); (next order them to move to "point")

The solution isn't working. Although if put them AI-soldiers inside buildings then they appear in the game when you test you map in map-editor. They are however not saved in XML or BZM file. Hence, the next time you open the map you havn't any AI-infantry on the map (outside the normal limits).

To elaborate, place them as players units than use the command to switch them over to AI.

I made a mistake in the map (add a three party) which explain why I had trouble with AI soldiers turning up. The problem of not appearing in trucks go's however for both party's In the game it is for player no problem to load and unload soldiers into trucks. Will have to test if this also go's for the AI load and unload by script. Had almost abandon the project but with this good news I will go on. More later.. I have adjust previous entry.

Another minor problem.
Engineer trucks don't seem to be able to repair. Resupplying ammo, humans does work.
