Ok so I started play GPW for GZM and was absolutely loving it. No issues, no frame drops, no problems. However, I started to hear what I can only describe as sound artifacts as I reached the Stalingrad campaign. It first started out with the tank machine guns. I would hear screeching noises from my headphones when several tanks were gunning down infantry. It then became more frequent, and started spreading to explosions and artillery, and the screeching became louder and more common. So I wiped BK off my system, did a fresh re-install using the install guide (I have a steam copy of BK:Anthology) and I started a new campaign to see if that was the problem. It wasn't. The horrible audio artifacts and screeching became constant, and I can't stand to play the game anymore even though I am dying to continue. Can anyone help? Ive tried everything, from compatibility mode (Win 7, XP Sp3, and XP Sp2) to running as admin and closing every sound program I had. I even tried a different set of headphones directly connected to the mobo with no change. I looked all over the net for a solution but couldn't find one. Pls help. I love this game, the mod, and GPW. I was to play so badly but it is just unplayable with the sound literally dying right in front of me. Here is a link to my dxdiag: www.dropbox.com/s/jg9jlvbtci3dvc6/DxDiag.txt?dl=0

I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IF YOUR PROBLEM IS JUST WITH GZM MOD OR WITH VANILLA TOO. MODS USE AUDIO FILES WHICH CAN BE IN CONFLICT WITH YOUR SOUND CARD. FOR EXAMPLE, ME, WITH AN OLD PC AND WIN XP SP3 INSTALLED, I'VE ALWAYS HAD AUDIO DISCOMFORTS PLAYING HRA OR IRON FROST 3.2 DUE THE KINDS OF AUDIO FILES THEY USE CLEARLY NOT PROPERLY SUPPORTED BY MY AUDIO CARD INTEGRATED IN THE MOTHERBOARD ...

Edit: I have narrowed it down to the GPW mod. I have no clue why such an audio problem should exist when I had played so many hours and have not had any issues with the version of the GPW mod that is supposed to be compatible with GZM. Guess Im just gonna have to either try and find a fix myself or never play GPW, Shame because it was so good before it crapped out.

Hello crimear , I'm sorry to hear about this issue. My bet is a corrupted file, or some problem with your video/sound board. I have had some weird crashes when I play BK while my internet browser is opened for example. Anyway, I recomend you two steps:
1st: remove the ambient_effects.pak in your GPW folder, I put it as an optional feature to GPW and is not necessary to use it to play the campaign. 2nd: If the bug persists try find the exactly gun which provokes this problem and change its sound effect (you can do this by editing the weapons xml file).
