If someone suggests and requests number 30 and it has not been built already, then I'll add it with their name on it. Example: StuG-G-Arnie How's that for motivation?

I releasing with my stock skins... I have yours and will add them to the folders for alternates. Ow, I thought it was meant for your final models; I worked my head off to make them great and finish them in time, this was the idea and thats why I tested them for you as well as you asked for...and finding out the first issues.... Anyway, its not that important for me anymore.. (The textures are allready to find in my mediafolder: Stug skins.rar But the models are not updated, so we have to wait for the final release..)

VO the problem was a couple of changes in the UV had to be made. This was in stowage type parts, the MG change, and a new gun choke added. There was enough update to the UV, that I would have to build overlays for each model which would delay this project even more. It will be released later today, tonight, or early tomorrow for many of you in Europe and Russia. I worked on StuGs for around 20 hours straight yesterday... including rebuilding all of the geometry and building new 1.xml files. Now each carries the 2016 Copyright Stamp, and the 2015-16 Change Notes in History.
This Series more than any I have ever built, was compromised by factors I had not anticipated. Issues with geometric changes and weird animations have been resolved. But, there should have never been an issue, except for my attempt to add a plug in for maya which I thought might useful. Well that just about ended my work. It was that bad. It took a lot of the wind out of my sails because I did not understand what was going on. It took hours and hours to track down the cause... which was the key to solving the issues. These 30 models have more time in them than any project I have ever built of the same size. But I have also created models that are a little more sophisticated than earlier works.
ADDED: The final effect for these models is the new weapon files.... which provide an extended direct fire and bombard range. With a forward observer, these models will be lethal, although once flanked, they are very weak. They can conceal themselves against anything to about 15 range when their cover is lifted. I have tried to give these models the offense power they deserve.

UPDATED Again...
I guess you all assume that I got tied up and did not get the StuG Series released. That would be a fair guess.
Sunday I was bombarded with grandkids... almost all of them at the same time. The weather was not the greatest so we were indoors most of the day.
Picture a game of monopoly, using two boards side by side, money from 4 games, and double the number of property cards... it was brutal... and I got knocked out within the first 30 minutes, so I just was the banker after that. One of the 4 year olds, who was getting a lot of help from the others won the 8 hours game.
Many years ago, my kids created this idea and came up with new game cards and new names for properties to avoid confusion. This was by far the largest game we ever played. With the number playing, it soon became evident that the board was not big enough. So the kids decided to rebuild the board again... with 30 properties, railroads, utilities and chance or community chest squares on each side. That is 108 squares, the corners are just counted once. They think they will have the new board ready for my birthday in MARCH, and we will try it out. They already worked out the board size... right at 40 x 40 inches, 3 1/2 Feet Square...
Good thing our very large kitchen table is about 5 feet across. When I built the home years ago, my wife wanted a very large table in the kitchen, so she bought the largests table we have ever seen. It can be expanded to over 16 feet long. She has 20 chairs that match for it. It has always been our family table where we held discussions about important family matters, or work out problems, eat our meals... and even have a Family Milk & Cookie Night. The kids on the ends have trouble reaching the board, so they are talking about adding some kind of roller to it so it can move back and forth on the table as the turns move from player to player.
I can't remember any time in the past that this many of the grandkids were together at my house... 15 out of the 20 total is a huge group. 4 of my adult kids were there... so the house was full of activity. This week is my wife's and Anniversary hanging around this old bag of bones. So the kids decided to help us celebrate this year, 40 years of this Union. They say this is the Ruby Anniversary.
So Tuesday night through Friday morning my wife and I will be preoccupied somewhere on the planet away from kids, grandkids and distractions. We're visiting one of our most favorite hide-outs during the last 40 years. Even our kids do not know where it is... it is so secret.
If time on Tuesday day, I'll get the StuGs downloaded... I lack one model's export and building out the Resource Folder.

There is nothing more wonderful than to be with your family and especially the children of the house, they give a lot of life. The "Family" our biggest pillar in life. A hug.

Major, just 30 models in the StuG series is too much.

Ok... Update on StuGs...
More delay... due to the number of grandkids demanding my time. That is always coming first in my book, so sorry about that.
After updating all of Von Osten's Folders with the final Model Builds and new 1.xml files, his release is ready for upload. Will be posted in a few hours. He has outdone himself on many of these skins so you may wish to have these. Very good work. They fit the battle Ready Theme very well.
Of course, he does not have the newer models with the Top or Coaxial MGs. His Skins can be easily modified to be used on these models when released. The entire Series will be released with my skins which are a generic base texture. I do offer about 9 different Painted Skirt versions. If someone wishes to create new skins, this is the best source to start from.
The Total StuG Series includes 29 or perhaps 30 models. I'm considering a Ausf F8 rebuilt to the G Standard. These were common in Russia and a few did appear in Normandy. This model would have the MG on the top, Open hatches, and skirts, or parts of skirts.
The main thing is the variety that will be released. It is up to you to decide which ones will be used the most. Some of the new parts are included in the PzIII Tanks. The PzIII ran a parallel course to the StuGs on improvements. Now that the animations issue has been solved, the PzIIIs will be released soon, perhaps a few days.
Watch for updates today for downloads...

StuGIII Series II is ready for download!!!
I suggest that all previous StuGIII releases are deleted. Some of the Folder/Model Names have been altered slightly. There are 30 models in the Major Pain Download. Von Osten has prepared 40 Models, but a few are only a different texture on a slightly different model. The VO Release does not have the latest machine Gun positions.
I released the VO Versions because he did a fantastic job on the skins. You should at least look it over. Some of the Model Folders may be slightly different so you may have to compare the models in some cases to make sure you apply the correct sub-files to a Folder.
Also VOs Models use the Bk Standard Weapons, while my final release use Weapons designed for the models. The only difference is the extended range of the Assault Guns... The StuGs do not have extended sight and depend on a forward observer to benefit from the range.
I hope you enjoy this Series. It was a long time coming, but offers a lot of variation for your maps and missions.
