Maybe I make a complete idiot of myself, but I want to achieve the developement for an official Blitzkrieg III game. I will make a effort in contacting (indie) game developers and see what is possible. I'm convinced that there is a market for a new chapter in the BK series. Suggestions, ideas, help etc are wellcome..
Moderator Note: I modified Subject Title so as to not be confused with NIVAL's BK3 Release.

Great idea Vonosten.
Maybe a combination of BK I and CMC? Maybe some post WWII scenarios?
I wish you good luck. MarinerNL

Thanks all! Just keep posting ideas, and I will make a convincing proposition out of this! @ MarinerNL: Not a bad idea; maybe a game covering famous 20th century battles beginning at WWI and forth.. I really would like an open source, mod friendly kind of game, with endless possibilities. @ SJ: Yes the communitys BKIII..great idea still. But maybe we lost cooperation in this matter; although I really like to contribute! But than again, a new 3d engine with realism, huge maps, detail and endless tactical ways would be so cool . If I see latest releases on new tactical games, they all have something, but lack more..like Men of War, Combat Mission Normandy,Wargame: European Escalation, Achtung Panzer etc.. its too scripted, unrealistic , has old time graphics and lack of athmosfere. Or has on the contrary such big maps with lack of units that it becomes to boring and time consuming to get satisfied like in Achtung Panzer...The game that puts all this in an explosive mix is missing..Thats why I think this gap needs to be filled..

But than again, a new 3d engine with realism, huge maps, detail and endless tactical ways would be so cool . As MP wrote somewhere in this forum, the Enigma engine that BKI uses has 3D faetures already. They are just not activated. Indeed the same engine is used by BKII that has 3d features. So a first step toward the developers would be "Please guys, let me use 3d features in BKI". After having achieved 3d features, I think you need to design all infantries because they are now sprites and 3d features and sprites don't match. In a nutshell, you have to design infantry the same way you design tanks, planes and vehicles. This could be a good start. Anyway we have still BKII... Well, let's hope for the best

Interesting idea, Folgore..It could be a good starting point...Btw: BK 2 has its plusses, but I hate the infantries movement; it looks as if they all shitted their pants..Or a major overhaul of the BK II game? What is the biggest problem with that game, please your opinion?

Hello vonosten,
What i think is missing for BK2 is the variaty of units, skins mods and maps made by the community such as for BK1. Also the gameplay in BK1 is, in my opinion, better than in BK2.
However the strategic options you have between maps in CMC (the day after) also should be implemented in BK3.

...What i think is missing for BK2 is the variaty of units, skins mods and maps made by the community such as for BK1. Also the gameplay in BK1 is, in my opinion, better than in BK2...MarinerNL Those are two keypoints: 1) Stuff available; 2) Gameplaying 1) When BK2 got shelves (2005) the base stack of units was 250 versus the 200 of BK1 that got shelves in 2003. But the world community filled the gap fastly and now the stuff for BK1 is much more than the one for BK2. Why? This lead us to point 2). I tried BK2 and found it too much arcade-style, nearly a FPS. What's wrong? Changes of the gameplay apart, that made their damages, I think that it has been overlooked the fact that strong 3d features, with large zooming in and out, lead players to act like playing either an FPS game or a tactical game like Panzers rather than a strategic one. So you play BK2 and say:"Where is the strategic perspective I had in BK1?" Gone with the zoom... So people liking "strategic perspective" keep on developing BK1 and people liking FPS or tactical perspective, well, they could find something much better elsewhere. Nevertheless there is the alfahamsin mod for BK2 that is promising. I remember also the BoB (Best of Brits) mod that was very promising. So 3D features are bad for truly strategic games? No, of course, but you have to limit them. I would allow rotating and tilting but put limits on zooming. Think about maps (...the paper ones... ;D), strategic ones are different from tactical ones and those latter differs from operational ones. The same applies for games. My two (euro)cents

Ok, let me state this clear: This is the opportunity to place ideas! And make it real.. What features/enhancements would you all like to see in a BK III game? Please share your ideas!! Place a list of everything you all can think of.

Forgot to add: ileet and Squirejames gameplay modifications should be evaluated. I think they are going to introduce strong modifications.

I would like to see usage of different shell types: HE and AP, for all cannons/vehicles. To achieve this, inventory screen of units should/could be added, therefore you will be able to choose which ammunition you would like to add for a unit.

Could that be done replacing those useless smoke shells? (Don't ask me how... ;D )

Interesting ideas! Good question if ap/he are possible to put in this existing bkI version. But Say, there would be a total new game, what would be the least? For example I was thinking of infantry digging in, more accent on infantry, longer firefights, cover etc. Buildings with more cover/fighting capabilitys, more damage stages, towing options vehicles, capture vihecles, surrender of infantry, huge maps (open?) camostance for units, switch off health bar! realistic effects on explosions and tank damage, refuel units, more vision/line of sight etc etc Just some ideas..

Like Alexandar, i would like to have change ammo; a refuelling parameters, capture vehicles and realistic effects on explosions (Das ist gut) , Big size map (50x50) as Vonosten said...... something like Cuban Missile Crisis with the ailogic for STALINGRAD (fire do not pass a crossing houses) .......The same Xml, lua and Bmz for the love of modding........maybe a fantastic editor for an easy adaptation of many existing maps and mods The same graphism, the same spirit! I dont want an other Company of Heroes with limited units on map!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( bliztkrieg mods enable 999 units ) I dont want an other Command and conquer with factory for creating units!!!!
