I'm not happy with the result of the T34 texture series..The detail is not sharp enough..Any suggestions on another paint program than that of Gimp or Paintnet?? This is the dds-file: ..and this ingame:

You need Photoshop. We need to modify the texture of light and shadow. Instead helmet with a star at the tankman should draw a headset (never a Soviet tank crew in helmets did not go in the tank). Remove the star from the shoulder (in a tank suit was chevrons) It would be better to change the pattern tracks
White stripe on the towers of tanks began to draw in '45, when Soviet troops entered Germany.

VO: Which part are you referring to? The side armor UV was captured from x/-x perspective. That may skew the skin a bit due to side slope of about 30 degrees. I can perhaps re-capture the sides with by using the slope, but the result will enlarge the side plates on the sides about 25-30%.
Typical of most models, UV is built from 5 perspectives: Top, Front, Rear, Side L, Side R. Most are on zero plane, or flat perspective, rather than allowing for angle or slope, mostly due to the scale the model is used in. Front slope armor is usually shot from the top depending on detail like hatches, plates, scopes, etc. I map each part individually rather than whole model in final build form. This allows each part to have it's own detail rather than being merged into the perspective of the area it exists in. Example: Hatches are mapped alone so edges are enhanced, top or visual surface can be given different shading or shadowing.
The T34 is rather unique in how it is mapped since the side slope is greater than say a M4. The M4 is right at 5 degrees from top plane. The T34 is around 30 degrees. But since I map it from zero or flat, it looks flat. You only see the slop at certain rotated angles in the game. The same slope is more pronounced on the SU-85 hull since it has the raised platform.
So, if you're not happy with the skin result, it is not you or your talent at fault, it is how I built the UV which is limiting the final result.
Let's consider a possible re-map...

Thanks for the tips gagarin, I will rework the tankcrew! And I will put the stripes on the '85 series instead. The tracks is how the model is made, what is the correct form then? @ Major Pain,it will be too much work, redoing all..So let it be..enough work for you allready!

The patterns on the track is very well done for the Soviet armored vehicles Eisenhans (just for me too red in color). You can take it samples
