I think it can be of interest to make a list of ideas and suggestions for BKIII Since we all have very much know-how of this game, It could make worth a try. In a week or two I will send these suggestions to Nival. Keep the suggestions short, to the point, and realistic!

Make it compatible with BK 1. Two ways: 1) As a mod 2) Using a program that converts misssions from BK 1 to BK 3 (except for sprites, of course). Maybe the mapeditor?

-Easy to be modded or at least with some instructions. Add a reseditor of course. -Night and sea (or river) battles. -Sprites for different seasons (the mentioned only one front, but how about Africa, for example?). If not, the possibility of creating new seasons... -Vehicles that can be left or stolen by crews. -An engine that allow vehicles with more than 15 bodyparts. -As iLeeT suggested, dedicated servers or something that allow those who want to play on-line to do it freely, without lag. -Maps bigger than 32x32, and please, no MoW or CoH sized maps... -Should we suggest them letting this board be the official forum of the community? It's no use to have two big forums, one for the newfags and another one for the oldfags (and pros ) -Maybe they could share with use some source models (some examples, like one single soldier and one tank like they did with BK I), that would help the modders a lot. -Vehicles than can transport infantry inside of them and at the same time their turret/machine gunner can rotate. -Rotating wheels and axis, and maybe the tracks as well... -Direct control over the airplanes and maybe over some armoured units?? -Refuelling options and parameters -Possibility of moving wrecked vehicles. (If I remember anything else I'll post it here). (I would ask for landing helicopters just in case but we're talking about a WW2 mod xD, but how about landing and taking off airplanes? )

I'm taking some suggestions made in this thread (and adding some others In first, correcting the bug of the ailogic.dll (firing through buildings) - a refuelling parameters - crew in vehicles, if there's no crew, impossibility to move vehicles (possibilities to capture them) - realistic effects of the explosions - big size map (50 by 50 kilometers ) - strategical map for campaign - realistic range - realistic movement speed - realistic deplacement for vehicles (no turn on themselves for wheeled vehicles) - realistic textures - different shell types (HE, AP and smoke) for all guns/vehicles - possibility to make trenches and foxhole for infantry - possibility to lay (and cleared) mines for infantry - possibility to forbid shoot for all units - possibility to lead aviation (like in BK2) - possibility to build pillboxes for engineers - improved multiplayer mode (no lags and disconnections) - of course, possibility of modding the game (this is why BK1 has a ten years life in my opinion) maybe i forget one or two thing

* Improve range and sight in terms of topography - (This already in use in many RTS games)
* sight blocked by terrain and obstacles -(This already in use in many RTS games)
* range improved based on actual distances- (This already in use in many RTS games)
* Foliage provides extra hide bonus for infantry and vehicles - (This already in use in many RTS games)
* Vehicles can be captured and used - (This already in use in many RTS games)
* damaged vehicles can be towed by ARVs
* riding infantry can fire weapons (rather than sitting ducks)
* 3D Buildings with improved damage simulations - (This already in use in many RTS games)
* Expand vehicles to utilize unique texture overlays - ID numbers, damage, etc... (This already in use in many RTS games)
* Retain OPEN SOURCE Platform and similar File System to BK1. MOD compatible.

Yep... each model folder has a base skin. In addition, there are multiple overlays which incorporate ID #s, damage, or other 'things' which are added to the model skin. This allows the player to use the same model for a tank platoon for example. Let's say he has six or seven tanks, but each has it's own number and unique appearance like hull damage, camo, etc... This technique is in use by several other game platforms right now. For those paying attention to developing events... I urge you to look at Prime World and King' Bounty:Legions, both recent NIVAL productions. Both are Multi-platform and seem to be gaining steam. But, neither can be modded, at least not yet. Both are Multi-player. I'm not seeing much room for adding items from the player's world. I hope BKIII does not follow these examples, or many of us will be disappointed. But on the other hand, it seems that DLC Multiplatform is where the Game World is going. Also for reference for another game about to be released which is from all reports going to be moddable: www.totalwar.com/en_US/rome2/The reason I mention the above is some reports that TW may move into the WW2 world in 2014-15.

another suggestions that i've forgot : - possibility to cross river with infantry - possibility to build pontoon bridge the list start to be very big now - possibility to build pontoon bridge where you want !!!
- Naval units and why not, submarine units ? - possibility of landings ( which would develop type maps "islands") - possibility to create their own section (in-game) - No arcade game ! - Restricted visual cues. Personally, I do not like a big circle around a unit when I select, which is often the case in 3D games ( and ability to enable / disable)! In my case, I much prefer a more refined indication, as used in blitzkrieg.
Probably other ideas coming

I just hope BK-III will be a worthy successor to BK-I. Naturally, I'd stay positive and will follow with great interest the development of BK-III.
