Hi all! New to this forum but not new to the game itself. Went through my closets to get rid of some junk and found my Blitzkrieg Anthology game along with Mission Kursk and The Day After, so obviously I had to reinstall them again for some fun. While I'm not sure I enjoy The Day After, my Blitzkrieg Anthology is however loads of fun... Anyway, been awhile since I was involved in a BK-forum as this game is rather old these days, and I don't care much for BK2. I prefer the 2D-graphics really... Still, I'm a bit unsure which mods to use and so on, so I have some questions; ¤1. Which mods for BK1, (Blitzkrieg Anthology), are recommended? ¤2. Can I have several mods installed at the same time? I already had the following files stored on my harddrive; * Ambient_Effects * Desert_Roads * fighters_to_groundattack * Jeep_Towing_Patch * R2V Realism 1.3b * R2V_Buildings * R2V_Unit&Skins * RTNonXAv * SolvangSkinsAfricaTrains * stuka_siren * Tracers Since yesterday I have downloaded several mods and maps I've found online; * CSLA v 2.0 incl. 2.0.1 patch * BK Resurrection v 1.61 Gold * [BK1]XIVMod * Operation Apocalypse I noticed there is also a XIVMod for RT but I'm not sure I need it? Any other mods you can recommend? Many thanks in advance! And a Happy New Year to all of you...

Still, I'm a bit unsure which mods to use and so on, so I have some questions; ¤1. Which mods for BK1, (Blitzkrieg Anthology), are recommended? I would suggest: Hungarian Royal Army (HRA), Heimatfront (HF), GZM and Hagelsturm. Then there is Blitzkrieg Resurrection 1.61 Gold which changes lots of game parameters.¤2. Can I have several mods installed at the same time? Yes, but for big mods like HRA I would suggest a clean installation. A clean installation is mandatory for GZM and for Blitzkrieg Resurrection 1.61 GoldI already had the following files stored on my harddrive; * Ambient_Effects * Desert_Roads * fighters_to_groundattack * Jeep_Towing_Patch * R2V Realism 1.3b * R2V_Buildings * R2V_Unit&Skins * RTNonXAv * SolvangSkinsAfricaTrains * stuka_siren * Tracers Since yesterday I have downloaded several mods and maps I've found online; * CSLA v 2.0 incl. 2.0.1 patch * BK Resurrection v 1.61 Gold * [BK1]XIVMod * Operation Apocalypse I noticed there is also a XIVMod for RT but I'm not sure I need it? Any other mods you can recommend? You need it if you use Rolling Thunder. Hagelsturm Terrains, smoke.pak and permanent wrecksMany thanks in advance! And a Happy New Year to all of you... Welcome onboard and Happy New Year

Thank you! As I try to go through all threads in here I'll be sure to return with questions as they all arise. Post Updated;
Okey so I've been going through loads of threads and single posts to find mods and maps - hidden as they are and not really easily collectable, but this also raises some questions;
1. As I mentioned I have the Blitzkrieg Anthology and I'm wondering if I can modify existing maps, (BK, RT and BH), using a map editor?
2. I downloaded something labelled MPUnits, actually I found several ones, but I currently have the following;
[BK]MPUnitsP1V1 [BK]MPUnitsP2V1 [BK]MPUnitsP3V1 [BK]MPUnitsP4V1 [BK]MPUnitsP5V2
[BHRT]MPUnitsP1V1 [BHRT]MPUnitsP2V1
I presume that the BK-ones are to be installed in my Program/Blitzkrieg Anthology/Blitzkrieg/Run/Data...folder, and the BHRT-ones in my Program/Blitzkrieg Anthology/BH - RT/Run/Data...folder? Right?
3. When I installed my Anthology I also installed the "la_plata_sp_gold_anthology.pak, (a self exec. file), but it has created a 2nd Program/Blitzkrieg/BH - RT/...folder, something which makes me wonder if I need it at all? Or should I change the path to my main Program/Blitzkrieg Anthology/Blitzkrieg/BH - RT...folder?
4. Also downloaded some BKXIVMod along with a RTXIVMod! I assume the BK-one goes in my BK-folder and the RT-one in my BH - RT-folder?
5. Found and downloaded Panserwaffen mod, but I'm a bit unsure which versions to install. At first I found Panzerwaffen1.25a, 1.25b, 1.25c along with 1.30a, 1.30b and 1.30c, but later I also found Panzerwaffen 2011 ML Part 1, 2, 3 and 4. Which ones are the correct ones?
6. I do have some questions regarding the GZM-mod, but I found it to be a bit overwhelming to grasp by reading all the threads about it, so I think I'll return later on with that one!
7. Finally, as mentioned initially I own the BK Anthology along with Mission Kursk. Has their been other editions released, or are everything else simply mods created by the BK-community?
Thanks in advance for answers - if possible...

1. As I mentioned I have the Blitzkrieg Anthology and I'm wondering if I can modify existing maps, (BK, RT and BH), using a map editor? Yes, you can. But sometimes peoples don't like their thing being used by other peoples (AFM mod for instance). It's better ask and get permission from authors before using their things and then give them the credit due.
2. I downloaded something labelled MPUnits, actually I found several ones, but I currently have the following;
[BK]MPUnitsP1V1 [BK]MPUnitsP2V1 [BK]MPUnitsP3V1 [BK]MPUnitsP4V1 [BK]MPUnitsP5V2
[BHRT]MPUnitsP1V1 [BHRT]MPUnitsP2V1

Or should I change the path to my main Program/Blitzkrieg Anthology/Blitzkrieg/BH - RT...folder? I don't use Anthology so I can't answer but is seems quite strange. Did you have selected the correct during extraction?
4. Also downloaded some BKXIVMod along with a RTXIVMod! I assume the BK-one goes in my BK-folder and the RT-one in my BH - RT-folder? Correct.
Quite a mess indeed. Here you will find some explanations about Panzerwaffen blitzsrbija.proboards.com/thread/825/latest-mods?page=6#page=1 . In a nutshell, I understand that 1.25a + 1.25b + 1.25c + 1.30a + 1.30b + 1.30c means more objects and units than Panzerwaffen 2011 ML. But I could be wrong. Anyone?
Iron Frost, of course.
Thanks in advance for answers - if possible...

This is not a real mod because I included an object.xml file and not modobject.xml file.
Starting point is the original BK object.xml file. To this list I add my MP units and save again as object.xml (the BK engine always use the newest file). The new object.xml file is included in the PAK file.
The files labeled [BK] have as starting point BK unit list. The files labeled [BHRT] have as starting point BHRT unit list (included more units than the original BK). The only differences between [BK]MPunitsP%V% and [BHRT]MPunitsP%V% is this object.xml file.
Because I use a modified object.xml, you can use this files (and hence units) in combination with any mod. If was a mod this can't be done.
The files should be placed in your Blitzkrieg\Run\DATA folder (the files named BK) or in your BH-RT\Run\Data (file name BHRT)

Welcome to the Community. You might find my Blitzkrieg "How To" Tutorial helpful. Also you can find most of my models on my MediaFire page. When you learn how the data and file system works, you can create your own maps and missions. If you plan to share your work with others, you must pay attention to objects and models that are in your project that may not be in use by other players... so you must create the map and and provide the models and objects within the released project. This would not be considered a so-called mod as such. Care must be exercised as to models and objects that may be part of a specific add-on, and might be protected under copyrights. It is important to secure permission to share objects and models. If you project included objects from specific mods, you can state this in your project; This map requires the following mods: x, y, z, etc. In this case you do not have to include the models and objects in your released project. The Rolling Thunder game engine serves as an excellent base for creating new maps and missions. Burning Horizon is less suitable so I would not spend much time adding mods or new objects and models to it. Rolling Thunder can be expanded by adding numerous mods, models, objects. I use it as the base for my work. Most BK releases and versions use the RT game engine and some offer additional game engine advancements. My MediaFire page is here: www.mediafire.com/?72cmkdkr7999mAgain, welcome to the community.

Hi there Major Pain - and thanks for the welcoming... If you don't mind - or anyone else for that matter - I think it's mor suitable to continue this in my map-thread seeing as it's all about maps anyway. You can find it here!

A stupid question perhaps, but how do I know if I'm using the RT-engine or not when creating maps/scenarios - if I have BK Anthology installed?

The mapeditor does not use all of the game engine Direct Link Libraries (.dll) to run.
So it does not matter what the game engine is... The mapeditor.exe is a stand-alone program.
This only becomes and issue if you are running a map that does not include some objects in the test mode. (Read Below).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Map Editor is the same for all versions, if you have the updated MapEditor that is:
mapeditor.exe 1.2.0.0
Size = 3988 kb
Date = 10/08/2003
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mapeditor is pretty smart. It remembers where your maps are (the directory), it remembers the last setup and the maps worked on.
If you have several mapeditors, the data is stored in the Computer in the Windows Registry. So it does not matter which mapeditor.exe you run.. they all check the Registry for their instructions.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Issues can arise when trying to create a map in Anthology. If your mapeditor first ran for RT, then you must make sure that no RT objects are in a BH map.... or it will not load, and crash back to the desktop. This is whay I never bother with BH unless I am only playing the Rommel Campaign.
It is important to remember... RT will run BH maps, but BH will not run RT maps. Anotlogy did not resolve this issue. You can get around this if you have an exact copy of your RT Objects Files in BH... and you use the same exact objects.xml to build the Objects Database.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope that answers your question.

Thank you MP! It does! I have a habit of always creating an exact copy of my setup of any games I have installed, keeping them all saved in any of my external harddrives. This makes it soo much easier should I return to a game several years after abandoning it. Just continue where I left... And I have all my custom files installed inside my BK/run/data folder, not the BH-RT one...
