Firstly to say hello and to introduce myself. I am 62 years of age and approaching senility - by default not overly technically minded. I am not a "hardened" gamer, my interest is first and foremost in the Spanish Civil War. I bought a copy of Rolling Thunder having discovered that there is a relevant mod, Spanish Civil War Redux.
I have tried just about everything to get it to run but without success. Can anyone point me to relevant information on the forum (I can't for the life of me find anything) or give me some first-hand help please. Be gentle please and have consideration for my approaching dotage.
Would be indebted for any and all help.

To start. If you have windows7 or higher than you should copy your installation from C:\Program Files\Blitzkrieg Rolling Thunder to C:\{BK{ or any or name}\Blitzkrieg Rolling Thunder or D:\{...}\Blitzkrieg Rolling Thunder. Why first a name. I recommend to make per mod one installation. In theory you can work with one installation and add all mods. In practice this however sometimes leads to crashes. Hence, better to use just one mod per installation.
Second the mod must be in folder RUN\MODS and would look like RUN\MODS\{name Mod}
To start the mod you select in opening menu Options and the select load mod (you should see here the name of the mod). Now you can go back to the opening menu and select New Game and then select Custom Game and select Custom mission or Custom chapter. If you select a game and it reported Do you what to change mods then this map/chapter is not for this mod.

Welcome here Tatar21, I recommend to make per mod one installation. totally agree with you, it's the best way to don't have conflicts between mods.

Thanks to all for their replies. I will try what you suggest. Incidentally the link to "blitzkrieg start-tools" appear to be dead.

you can install the mod in a temporanby folder on your desktop for example and then drag it in the 'mods' folder of your bk 'run' folder

Finally managed to load this after much trial and error. Did not work by dragging or copying, only by actually unzipping mod into relevant folder. BUT now although the game loads vehicles and other textures don't render correctly. Vehicles are just black and white checkerboards!!!
Any suggestions?

The Black & White Skins means you are missing the skin file for that model.
Check your Resolution. Depending on the BK Version you are using, you need to go to Options and set to High Resolution.
If you do not have High Res available, then you need to get a HI-RES patch.
The most widely version to not have HI-RES is Rolling Thunder, and Rolling Thunder in Anthology. You can get the HI-RES Patch from my MediaFire Page (linked below in my signature).
You may also need the Skin Patch for HI-RES as well...
If you are trying to run in another Resolution, you need to change to HI-RES. Almost all members and players only use HI-RES.

EDIT: I see Quintaxel was advising the same thing at the same time I was...

Thanks Major Pain. I think that I might have just asked you this question in another thread, so forgive me if I repeat myself. Where does the config.cfg file go please?

The config.cfg goes in the Run Folder.
Rename the original config.cfg to Config_Orig_cfg, before you paste the new one.
