Hey guys,
My Fallschirmjager Pionier Flammen is crashing my map editor for some odd reason.
I've double-checked the unit, squad and modobjects files and I can't find any faults throughout.
I was hoping one of you could explain what might be going on.
My Fall_Pz_Jager_'42, '43, '44, and '45 are doing the same. Double-checked those also. '40 and '41 are loading fine. Also, the rest of my Fallschirmjager units are loading fine.
I'd appreciate any help finding the problem.
Thank you.
Ciao, John

Hi dragonwolf, Check 1. All humans are declared in the modobjective (check pad). Check 2. Is the squad declared (this must be correct, because you can select it) Check 3. The xml file of the squad. This is mostly cause. Are the names of the squad members correctly written & use through out(in members declartion as well in the 4 squad formations).

John
Send one of the squad 1.xml to me and advise what soldiers should be included in order of formation. Usually the issue is a missing < or >. Or it could be the Soldiers in the Formations section do not match the Members Declaration. One little mistake will crash the game editor or game. When I make changes, I use the replace function in the Menu... I use Wordpad. Sometimes this will not work if you are replacing several of the same units with several different units. In this case you have to make changes line by line and pay attention to spelling and structure. Since it is happening in most of your squads, there is a common issue.
Another issue that you might be having is with one of the soldier 1.xml files. If it is corrupt, then the entire Squad it is included in will crash. The quick test for a 1.xml is opening with Internet Explorer... if the 1.xml does not display with the last line of the code, it will report an issue on the line above or below what is displayed. Then you have a clue where the issue is. So I'd begin to check the Squads then soldiers 1.xml. Internet Explorer is easier than Scite in this respect.

Thank you, keepitsimple and MP,
I followed the 1, 2, 3 plan and found the problems. They were in the modobjects file.
The Fall_Panzer's path was written wrong and the Fall_Sapper was missing entirely. . . Doh!
All of my Fallschirmjager units load now.
Thanks again.
Ciao, John
