Does anyone else get a "Runtime error 70, permission denied" when applying the dualcore fix? I click yes to patch the .exe, then i am asked if it was succesful, i say no (because the game is windowed and i want to try disabling one cpu myself, usually this works) and then i am getting this error. This means that when i start a game one cpu is already disabled like the fix did it, but i don't want it to happen. The other time i did it, it was working, "no" returned the .exe to it's previous state with my 2 cpus active.

Never had any problems with running BK on multi-core machines. I thought this dualcore patch was only needed for the vanilla version of BK ? Maybe try this game.exe file. If this doesn't work try cleaning the registry using an utility like Ccleaner. Use the portable version if you do not want to install on your computer. Running Ccleaner will not harm your computer. Just make a BU of the registry file. CCleaner will promt you to do so. Hope this helps.

I use Ccleaner as well and highly recommend it. Be advised that if you follow the default settings it will scrub not only your registry clean, but will also delete all cookies and such, meaning that all stored passwords for forums and such will be wiped out.

I am not sure if the fix in intended for the vanilla only. Even uninstalling the fix was making the game.exe to run with one cpu. So i used the .exe from BH-RT (i own the Anthology version), copying it in the BK folder, (it was the exact same size) replacing the BK .exe and it worked. Though, i grabbed the game.exe Quintaxel provided and it seems to be the one i have, the vanilla .exe. So, anyone having this problem, replacing the "problematic" .exe with an unaffected one seems to do the trick. I guess the problem wasn't registry related because i use regseeker almost everyday, but i know about how good ccleaner is because i use it on my brother's laptop and if the problem was to occur again, i would use that one too. Thank you both guys.
