Here is a few interesting stats:
193 members have logged in since August 1, 2015.
This includes the 34 new people who joined since August 1, 2015.
Only 9 of the 34 new members posted since August 1, 2015.
Not all of the 193 members posted.
Only 85 members logged in twice since August 1st, 2015. (less than half).
_______________________________
OK... going back to January 1st 2015.
You only add another 29 members who logged in at least once, all of them new.
Those 29 never logged in after June 30th, so the community membership looks more like 200 or so current this year.

@stanenberg i don't yhink music or video threads are the most followed, instead i see each time - general topic - is the section much visited. about feedback i totally agree with you. custom works need much discussion, entusiasm .. and maybe it's properly this last what miss. about the frustration of the artist, i could just say a man do what feel/love do, so share own work is simple a publicity of own work to the others, free to play it or not. anyway, for me you rest the one. Major Paini didn't received any help by no one for the things i had in minds, just some suggestions by the usual gooders (folgore at start, scyooff, you, mat, keepitsimple, kaoz, ..). this is no good for who would want make something, also because make something for ownself could be something for all of us, if shared, and this could be the same frustration of an artist which don't see reply by his own shared works. QUOTE If we give you something, then you must give us something back.this is the key for the end. who have ideas or will to put own forces in a project should be stimulated not blackmailed. great pontetials remain inactive maybe due to this lack of .. solidarity

I 100% agree with von about the 'spam' (flood of jokes, videos etc), and - while it may sound harsh - I'm glad I am not the only one feeling like that.
In fact, it has been driving me away as well, not to the point to completely abandon the community, but to the point that has made me feel like "Meh, why post about <insert idea/theory/something about BK mechanics> if nobody's gonna give a shit about it? I'm alone on this one, so I'll post once I have complete data (see: almost never)".
I'm not a fan of von leaving, but if he feels like that, it is his choice. However, von, I'd advise you to act like I do. Stick around (read around whenever you can), pop up once in a while to see what's up (make a post or two to boost morale), then go on with your business. You do not have to contribvute with each of your posts, I believe you have given us more that enough.

this discussion have no sense because we're differents and each one has his own way to relate with others, over own way to talk, think and own preferences. then, if someone post something which make laugh sometimes i think it isnt a bad thing. anyway you don't have to quit if you don't like a way, simply post more than who post jokes, even if i agree herr kodax much more few peole could follow you in that study .. but i don't know and the ways of the gods are unlimited

I have to say that now we reached the level of a discussion which is a serious one. Im fighting with myself about if this will bring practic results. The Issues Von Osten is talking about slowed my Power down too even if there were some releases i made. But the Mood wasnt pushing the creativity of my own.
im a newbie here and i dont give anything about expressing myself and become honoured by anyone. I stated clearly what i think some Months ago in a Thread about Critics and my Philosophy.
I cannot say if ill continue to stay here if this will not be solved by all of us together. I think not.
1) Generally i like to work professional without any personal aspects included. 2) When that works then im happy when having a good Time together. 3) If someones there and we have any issue i never would take that for Reason to open a conflict! I really believe that it is possible to exist together with Respect and in Peace even if there are issues youll never find an end, isnt it?

I'm sorry but my absence may be the very root of all of this. Looking back over the months, it appears many projects just stopped... some were my own. A few people tried to keep projects moving but it is tough when it seems everything is in flux.
So as soon as I can get back up to speed, I will. Gagarin has some stuff he is working on from our earlier work. Hopefully that will help stimulate some activity. I have my daughter looking for a chair to make it easier to sit longer. I still can't sit very long at my desk but I'm going to work on that over the next several days. I'm hoping that once I begin to put out some models, things will settle down and we can get back on track.
I thank Von Osten as well as the rest of you that have spoken out, for your courage to point out the issues here.
I'll do my part, but you must also do your part. Let's stay on topic and get back to work. Perhaps we can solve this, perhaps we cannot solve all of it. But I do know if we all do not pull together, we are likely doomed. If that is not enough to get past this, then I do not know what else to say.
So focus on the important stuff and less on the jokes and crap. While some of that is expected... we make up the serious side of the game progress. We must not lose the very ideas that bring us together. We are here for a reason. Let's make the best of it.

I come here because I love this game deeply. I'm here everyday with excitement. I come here because I enjoy you guys who also love this game. I try to stay on topic, but sometimes I forget to-I'm sorry to have caused distress to some.
This entire thread makes me very sad to read. I feel I am losing something that is very dear to me and won't be replaced-this is the last stronghold for this game. It really is up to each of us-do we stay or go our separate ways.
I intend to stay till the door closes for good or the good Lord calls me home, or possibly I finish a Stanenberg map in under 15 hours, which probably will never happen anyway.

The ego-beating really is not a factor in this discussion. The doors are still open. Let's put an end to this discussion and get back to what we are all here to do.
If this community comes to an end, it is because all of us gave up. This forum is much bigger than any single one of us. Don't ever forget that. Whether some choose to leave, others decide to stay, I cannot predict. Even if some leave for a time, but come back to see if we are still here..... we will be, or at least a good number of us.
It's funny how you sometimes don't understand what something means to you until it is under attack or about to end.
With Mr. Osten's permission, I'll leave this open and up for a few more days, then I'd like to bury it.. .. real damn deep.
You guys continue to sound off but I want to see some team building, not death dirges.
I've got some work to do...

The Topic, Major Pain's Projects, is back in business now. The door has been unlocked and everyone is welcome to come on in.
Sorry, no hot dogs or pizza right now... and pardon the clutter... but the tanks parts are taking up some of the floor space until I can get them to the assembly line. Drop on by and see what we have for you today...

Guys, sometimes we are just like an old marriage, some conversations back time to time, but the problem is the marriage itself (actually BK). We wont split or end it because we still have some great moments, but, naturally, the things never will be like the dating time again...
Today just a couple of guys download my maps and a smaller number of persons play it and just @stanneberg comment it, LOL. In the old times of BKP we had more than 1.000 downloads in one weekend (but how much of these guys really played it?). However, I think this is normal: after so many hours playing, modding and mapping, people started to being more selective: some are just modding, others are replaing old maps with some heavy modifications (people still replay the vanilla campaign!), and others just play determined scenarios or determined mods (I just play eastfront, for exmple). And after all, who cares? I make maps for those 30 faithful guys who like to play it, for my delight, and to keep a healthy competition between myself and the 2 or 3 still active mappers.
Sometimes the forums is flooded, but I prefer this than a empty forum (even if I never play a video music posted here). Is just a matter of keeping the things a little more organized, meaby the modders should post their files in the proper thread, mappers idem and the "Latest Releases" thread should keep cleaned. Everything would be easier.
To those who are tired of the flood I have just one sugestion: take a time of the forums and play a little more, after all to play should be the main objective of the members here.
