Gagarin-Even without speaking his native language at all-I just have to try to appeal to him in spirit at least, extend the hand and hope it is grasped.  If they reply in their native tongue(anything), I got to count on you guys to help out like Grot did the other day and welcome them.  Also let them know please I am not some meddling D-bag.

I am not looking for the one timers or so that are years old and never returned again-let them go and purge the list, they don't seem to need or want us.

The fellows I am looking for are the long time lurkers and all new folks who sign up from now on.

I agree...  you do know you can resort the list in most of the columns, right.

I can drill down the data a little more than most of you can...   just one of those Admin things.   But having said that, if we really wish to purge those that signed up, then never returned,  I can give you the number of those...  around 500.

I once ran the average number of visits on members who joined but never said anything, if I throw out the one time members that signed up and never returned.   That average is just over 10... 10.8 to be exact.   Most of those visits were spaced out over a two years period.    So the data can reflect the most recent members who are within the last two years still logging in...  that number is right at 392.  

If I expand this list to include members visiting over three years, it around 507.   So we can say that about 1/4 of the membership are the quiet majority over three years.    

I show only 121 that joined four year ago that are still visiting here, with an average of 19 visits.  

So how do we interpret these numbers and move these guys over to the talking member group?   

I think the mission that I enlisted Atlas to is a great start.  On his own he already captured one.  Now it very much appears that he is pursuing this aggressively.   We know we cannot get everyone engaged.   But just think about 2 or 3 a week crossing over...  I'm in agreement with gagarin in his subtle message.  While he did not say it directly, he did provide a clue... language is an issue.  

This is why knowing the country where a guy is can be a clue.  

Example, if the IP shows the guy to be on the French Border with Germany, then you have two languages that could be used for contact, and both are likely spoken.  

A guy in Rome most likely speaks Italian.  

This is something that we can somewhat go by about 80% of the time.   But it does not always hold true.  

Who was the member who spoke perfect English, and not a lick of German... who was stationed at the US Base in Stuttgart?  This was an exception to the rule.

But I think any direct contact is better than doing nothing.   Anyone wish to be Atlas's Assistant?

I needed to do something for the community here, to give something back. This site gives me so much.

If I can get the fellows to say anything in any language I know someone here will help me with greeting them.

I'm here in the community for more than a year ago.

And from the first day I have not stopped talking to everyone.

I spend my well here, and I have become very good friends.

With all of them, I spend very good and pleasant moments.
