Blizzard of 2016

Started snowing at 11:30 AM Friday and now at 8:30 AM on Saturday, it is still snowing here in Virginia and elsewhere on the East Coast up to NYC.

Winds are over 17mph sustained with gusts over 40mph.

On the coast it is far worse with the winds and flooding.

Every four or five years we get one of these.

Snowfall estimated at 20 inches with drifts up to your waist as of now.

Expecting 30+inches when done sometime this evening.

We have a generator and fuel and a small loader in the garage.  We still have power.

Checked my livestock in the barn and feed and hayed them. Wife helped.

A real battle to keep the backdoor open to let out the dogs.

Gaming today and two days of clean up ahead when it stops.

Let the good times roll.

yes i watched it today, authorities there suggest 5 days as amount to store food, water and medicines .. so let's go immediatly to buy your herbs ... augh!

The big story was in DC...  where they did not believe it would snow at all.  Congress declare a Snow Free Zone....   

That was about as effective as our border security.

It is all over but the clean-up. Nearest trained observer(NWS) at Opal Virginia reports 30 inches of snow. That is about 3 miles from me.

Now, the no fun time begins.

No Major, our Congress is so inept they could not pass a snow free zone. Cruz filibustered with "Green Eggs and ham".
