Does anybody knows how the Speed of Units in their 1.xml is related to km/h?

This has been discussed before between Squire James and Major Pain. I'm afraid somewhere in the MP topic. Not completely sure. Maybe use search...

i just checked, an infantry squad which memebers have kursk value 5 - 4.5 (for heavy infantry weapons), and a walkspeed 5.5, employs about 30 seconds to walk through a big square (visible in the map editor), a vehicle/tank about 10 seconds for the same trip. but let me verify these datas tonight at home.

Thx everyone! What the Major wrote is more than half of the work done, so ill finish the speed Question. I will translate this for every unit into the Numbers of the 1.xmls.

Interesting what the major wrote about speed. Besides this, I think it must look natural too. The original gamespeed seems to fast. I always played minus 1 gamespeed. Exept the possibility of this, unit speed can be altered in the xml files. and besides this the movement speed of infantery as well. I mean not the walking speed, but the movements of arms en poses.

The 'worst' part about speed - in my opinion - is the lack of acceleration. You just give a unit the desired speed, and as soon as you click somewhere, it moves with said speed.
It would be nice if we had some sort of acceleration, so you could have quite fast vehicles, but they would need to cover some ground first before reaching top speed.

I am afraid we lack of this possibility in the current engine, as far as I know.

ill make a set with Vanilla Units 1.xml´s with the correct Speed im curious to see the 1:1 results.
In Reality youll never see a vehicle driving that constant for sure.
In Game People could affect the Speed with the Terrain Grounds. In their xml code youll be able to define that
