Anyone out there who can guide me to make Blitzkrieg Run in Ubuntu 16.4 LTS using Wine ?
I use to play Blitzkrieg on Linux Ubuntu 14.4 LTS using Wine without hassle, even from a portable installation of BK. Now I upgraded to Ubuntu 16.4 and I just do not know remember how it is done.
Oh yes....why I would like to run BK under Ubuntu ?Well I would like to get rid of Windows for personal use. I have a licensed version of Win7 professional and decided not upgrade to Win10 so it would help a lot if I could run BK in Ubuntu.

I got Blitzkrieg running in Kubuntu 16.4 now under Wine. So far everything seems to run smoothly now. I think the problem had to do with the fact that I was using the 64 bit version of Kubuntu 16.4 and did not enable the 32 bit architecture before installing Wine.
To enable the 32 bit architecture you need to enter the following from the console;
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 No I need to find an alternative for the SciTe editor.
Just curious, are there any Linux users here or am I the only one?

I have been using Ubuntu for a couple of years now and currently use 16.4 and Kubuntu 16.4. I remember that changing over to Linux took me some time. I started installing Ubuntu next to Win 7 as a dual install. In the beginning I only used Ubuntu occasionally but that changed over time. Currently I mainly use Ubuntu for personal use. Also recently I discovered Kubuntu. Again I needed to adapt to the desktop environment but I really like it now. The good thing is that I do not have to choose as both Ubuntu and Kubuntu are free. Now I got BK working I still would need to get the tools I use for BK working . For scripting I already use Geany instead of SciTE. I added the BK functions to the LUA configuration file so the BK functions are recognized and highlighted.

I like Xubuntu for media things - easy to use for everyone new with Linux btw workdata such as Coding things im running under the umbrella of Kali or a modified KDE Desktop in most things Linux is working more efficient on processes. Windows acts basically like a bugged mod until you configured it right - and that takes you expensive time thats better invesed in more imortant things

Could you try with Wine+WindowsXP ? I'm afraid I do not understand your question Scyooff . Do you mean a dual boot Windows XP and (K)ubuntu? You do not need windows XP to run Wine. This is the whole idea behind Wine, to run windows applications without having a windows OS. Please let me know what exactly it is that you want to do.
