i cannot get this game working, or any games in this engine.

Hello, new poster here. Very interested in playing these types of games. 

So far the only ones on this engine I can get working are stalingrad (2005, runs on same engine as blitzkrieg), menu runs fine, ingame is choppy. Ive tried every compatibility mode. Every option. Resetting, uninstalling geforce, nvidia settings. Just choppy and unplayable.

I have blitzkrieg 1 and 2 anthonology, these do not even launch. Says im missing .dlls. I googled, and these seem to be microsoft c++ files but i reinstalled and repaired them all, still doesnt work. Even when i download the .dlls right into the game folder, i get the 0000000x7b exception. Ive tried the game on steam, GOG, installing directly to C+ drive. 

Cuban missle crisis actually plays ingame just fine, so maybe that will help you troubleshoot. I am so frustrated, i just want to play!

the finnish war ice game runs fine in menu, same as stalingrad, absolute choppy ingame.

specs are

i5 6600k
16 gig ram
1070 8 gig
windows 10 64 bit

absoutely what happens. this happens in the games that launch. stalingrad/icy whatever. 

blitzkrieg 1 and 2 wont open at all and says im missing msvcrp110.dll and msvcr110.dll or something.

ive legit googled for hours and tried everything. i tried it on my wifes computer. it opens but same laggy gameplay in this video. shes also on win 10.

blitzkrieg 1 and 2 give this error on start up 

missing msvcr120.dll msvcp120.dll

if i download the .dlls, i get the 000000x7b common error

UPDATE. i went to the microsoft website and got blitzkrieg 1 to open but installing the 2005 c++ redistributile. but now the game has the same issue as the video that guy posted above. very choppy. restarted pc, same issue.

so now we just need to figure out why its so choppy...

made a quick video for ya.

also tried it on my wifes amd rx 280 set up, same exact choppy gameplay. my fps counter says the gmae is running at 400fps and none of the settings effect this? maybe this cause it?

i also tried uninstalling geforce rxperience and restarting, no dice. getting hopeless here. 20 bucks still up for grabs. legit 100% not bullshitting. im so frustrated.

For me, its enough to restart the pc. It only works with the actual restart button and not shut down and start again.

Avoid watching videos on youtube while playing BK or using the Editor.

HAHAHAHAHA, I FUCKING DID IT.

in windows 10, the choppiness is caused by the uptime on computer, we know this. BUT on windows 10, fast startup in the power options stops even hard resets from resetting the uptime.

so all i needed to do was turn off fast start up, hard reset via the button (thanks stanenberg) and boom WE GUCCI BABY.

Haven't had an issue with that option on/off. The reason the uptime isn't reset with the fast shutdown option is because it isn't an actual shutdown. It's more akin to standby or hibernate.

yeah, its strange. now all games on the engine work totally fine. just beat the first 3 missions of the german campaign so fun! i kinda dislike how you pretty much have to arty every position after scouting or its insta death lol

already have em. i bought all the games on this engine on the steam sale for like a dollar a piece. world war 1, stalingrad, both blitzkrieg 1 and 2. cuban missle crisis and ice crusade :]

The random maps can be boring, but most historical maps are easily winnable without extensive artillery use (assuming you are playing on normal difficulty)
