First of all, Blitzkrieg don't support multi-core processing at all, to play the game you must assign it to a single core or it will crash a lot (CTD). (Even if you not encounter any Problems so far I would strictly recommend you to assign BK to one core !)
To fix this on Windows 7, 8 and 10, simply right click your Desktop shortcut of Blitzkrieg and click “Properties”.
In the “Target:” field, add the Red Text but don’t change your personal BK Path (Blue Text example):
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 1 C:\Blitzkrieg\Run\game.exe
!!! Be attentive with the space characters !!!
This will tell windows to only assign one core to your game (core 0 to be exact.) and make it run error free.
Note: The „Run“ folder has been removed from the Steam version.

It is also recommended that older games are installed in a separate games folder on the (C:) drive rather than the default "Program Files (x86)" folder if using a 64bit system and to have DirectPlay turned on in Legacy Components via Windows Features.

I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit with an i5 3570k processor and Geforce GTX 1060 GPU, the previous card was a ATI 6670 HD, all working fine after a couple of tweaks.
Folder installation path for CD-ROM version: C:/Games/Blitzkrieg Compatibility mode set to XP SP3 with DirectPlay in Legacy Components switched on. Without any of these settings Blitzkrieg would run choppy and crash for me. No multi-core modification was needed.
It would seem that a strange configuration runs better than a normal one.
High Regards.

It's interesting how Blitzkrieg can run so differently on sometimes very similar systems It sure is... i have old pc dual i7 with win7 and never had to use the patch. Laptop with dual i5 win7 running without patch. New pc with quad i7 win7(still) running without patch. On this new pc, i recently installed software for a bigger samsung screen. Now when i start BK, it does nothing. I then close the game from within the task manager, restart the game and it works. I have to do this every time now...
In all cases, i would recommend installing directly on c: drive instead of using the given path during install. So install in f.e. c:Blitzkrieg instead of Program files\Nival interactive\...
I know, this probably has nothing to do with screen problems (like my big screen now), which is mostly a videocard problem, but nonetheless, it is a good tip i picked up long ago on BKPortal and has always worked for me to avoid other problems.

hi kaoz what kind of software for samsung ? It's the windows driver for S27F35 together with EasySettingBox. When I don't manually stop the EasySettingBox thru task manager, I won't be able to play BK at all. When I turn it off before launching BK, I still have to start BK twice (since installing Samsung driver, I'm 100% I didn't install any other driver/software at that time).
