Does anyone here know how to create a visual display with (my choice of) music playing in the background? It would preferably be a single-click operation such as a web page display. I can create the web page, but I don't know how to attach automatic music to it.

What for?
In Flash, add this script:
name_sound.start();

This just takes me to a static video display. No download options that I can find. I'll try searching for it.

Well... I think that the price for a new Flash is 699$.

Flash is a program used to create animations, small games and websites through the use of frames and scripts. This is the most basic explanation that I can think of, I never got really good at Flash.

Flash would be the solution, but you'd need time to learn that...
you can use this in html for IE, however is not attached to picture, but the whole htm page
<bgsound src="sound.wav" loop="1">
loop="x" speelt het bestand x-aantal keer loop="infinite" speelt het bestand oneindig

Thanks, kaoz, that sounds like exactly what I want. It is for the whole document, that is specifically what I needed it for.
And thanks to all the rest of you for your input.

remember, only works for MS IE, and use it with care... it can be annoying coming on websites where the cavalry starts to play at maximum volume... most ppl close the page in that case.
you could also use:
<embed src="myMusic.mp3" width="194" height="40" autostart="false">
in IE, a MediaPlayer will appear and so the visitor can decide to hit the play button or not...
