Hello. A demo is about 50% complete. It will be a chapter or campaign of France vs Germany in the Saar region. I have to test whether I can move from one map to an adjacent map through scripting--without going to the chapter menu-- so that the chapter_script.lua file can control which map to load next. I have the concept and initial programming complete. Unfortunately, I have no date for the release of the demo. It contains no custom content (models, units). Its just like a situation map to display data to help plan missions for games.

It is designed for BKBH stock. The economy and production ideas I had were relating to creating a strategy game. Basically, the search for natural resources, protection of trade routes, forming trade agreements are factors that may determine where the battlefield is. It is outside the scope of the demo so it will rely on your imagination.

Understandable. Standard of global strategy is HOI2 and HOI3. I hope the mod will be similar to Hearts of Iron but to the extent possible. I think need large battle and a realistic number of soldiers in the army.(count of tank, infantry and other) Why BKBH? BKBH is not perfect and there are mods better.

Yes, something like HOI would be great.
I am concentrating on the maps and scripting. There are many mods for units. The demo is just an example so you can see how it works. Then you can use your mods for maps you create.

Would actually be very interesting if you could go from HOI2 campaign into a BK battle and back again... This continues to be very interesting.

Thanks Ocelo! That's my goal. It is similar to Jane's Fleet Command or a new game Naval War: Arctic Circle. They have the strategic/tactical map and a 3d window that can expand to full screen. Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations also has a nice interface. I can launch an applicaton by using a hyperlink: If you click on a ship icon, the browser opens on the side bar. I created web pages for the units like the Deutschland above. To interact with the unit, start a mission/scenario, etc, click on the button. (Harpoon3ANW) SH3 I can launch BK in windowed mode and with a map or mod loaded: But the blitzkrieg window goes where it wants to and I can't move it around. You can alt-tab back and forth which is a little weird when the window is smaller than full screen. I dont know if I can embed into a kind of mini-window like picture-in-picture. The economy stuff is relatively easier. The National Bureau of Economic Research has data files of economic statistics for Germany and France. The League of Nations Yearbook series for 1926-(basically 1939) has statistics on production, consumption, population, etc so commodities for which statistics are available can be used in a market sim. Creating a market sim engine is also a good way to learn economic theory. So you can see how you would have responded after the Great Depression. This is a quick example of NBER data: The index of industrial production for Germany from 1860-1937. You can see the dips for during WW1 and the Depression.

@danzig: didn't Lee from BKP at one point post an info thread about running it in windowed mode?
Dunno if you're doing this already...:
============= "Running Blitzkrieg in windowed mode, as opposed to full screen mode, enables the game screen resolution to be set lower than the monitors maximum. For example, this means you could play at 1024x768 instead of 1280x1024). Running in this mode means that the game will run, as the switch name implies, inside a window on your desktop. Performance when switching between the game and windows is greatly improved with this mode and, if you have sufficient free monitor space, you can run Blitzkrieg whilst keeping a watch over other applications, such as instant messaging clients, at the same time. If the game is run with this switch and you set your game resolution to the maximum your monitor allows then the game will still run in a full screen window with no desktop visible, but with the improved "switching" performance.
It has been found that when running in windowed mode it is easier to kill off Blitzkrieg if it has crashed out. In some instances, when running fullscreen the game can crash but there is no way back to the desktop to kill the process, usually resulting in the PC having to be physically powered off.
Example: Click Start, then Run. Type in "C:\Program Files\Blitzfront Game Studio\Talvisota - Icy Hell\Talvisota.exe" -windowed then press RETURN." =================

It is very tempting! But i think that GZM is the best basis. GZM contain units for minor countrys such as National. China, Sweden, Hungary, Romania and many other...

It really is much more stable. The BK Power Tools program will make shortcuts with command line parameters also.

Not only Far East. GZM contain units for most countries of the world. Burning Horizon contain units only for leaders. Where take the units for the rest of the countries?
